Chicagoans recognize the first Monday of every March as more than the hopeful end of winter, as it marks the celebration of Pulaski Day. Kidd Russell, a Chicago native who’s performed with the likes of The Roots, Shwayze, Common, The Flobots, Uncle Kracker, Modsun and more, is no stranger to the annual holiday, and now marks the special day with a song in the same name.

“It’s a feel good anthem for not only Chicago, but everyone looking beyond winter and into the spring and summer,” says Kidd Russell, who co-wrote the song with Cisco Adler. Adds Adler, “Chicago has always been good to #Bananabeat. This is the perfect way to give back and shine a light on an amazing talent coming out of the Midwest. Look for big things from Kidd Russell in 2012.”
