TV ONE’S UNSUNG PREMIERES WITH KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7 AT 8 P.M. ET
On Wednesday, Oct. 7 travel back to the glory days of the 70s as pop, funk sensation KC and The Sunshine Band are featured in the season’s premiere episode of the award-winning series Unsung on TV One. Join members of the band and leader Harry Wayne “KC” Casey as they recount the story of how their band quickly became, and has remained, a household name. Utilizing first-hand accounts from band members, interviews with family and friends, and archival footage, each episode of TV One’s Unsung, weaves a tale of the highs and lows of a life in the limelight. These poignant stories offer insight into the trials and triumphs faced in both private and public life.
“WAKE & BAKE”
Billboard talked to Buddz about the track and he said at first he had a familiar face in mind for the track. “At first I sent the song to Wiz (Khalifa) thinking it would be a perfect fit,” he explained, “but then I got a call from Iamsu! who heard the rhythm and immediately laid down his verse. We still felt that something was missing and enlisted Berner to finish it off for us.”

ALERT312 NEW VIDEO
“The Upside Eternal”, the lead single and title of ALERT312’s sophomore full length is a requiem for wrestling with the present realities of life with a hopeful anticipation for the future. Boogalu laments, “I never wanted this to be all that there is for me… like an ache for a lover, like a longing for eternity.”
The video’s stark emptiness on the verses and lush fauna greenery in the chorus visually represents the duo’s sentiments and appropriately frames the records full length content.
ALXA “LET GO”
With a wealth of material in many styles lined up for 2016, ALXA begins her musical journey with the single ‘LET GO’ from the forthcoming ‘LOST E.P.’ a collection of electronic based tracks.
A voice, which at the tender age of 20 has already been compared to both Amy Winehouse and Adele could be both a blessing and a curse. Yet within the incredible voice of ALXA you get that sense of pain, and effortlessness that you got with Amy, plus a vocal range and power that hints at Adele but with a soulful, rhythm and blues undertone and inspiration. If there is a voice capable of trying to carry the burden of these lofty comparisons its surely ALXA’s.

ARMOND WAKEUP NEW SINGLE
Marcus Graham Wednesdays begins with “Jacqueline vs Angela”. A take on an early 90s R&B classic. This is written from the perspective of “choices” resulting from conflict & “over-commitment”. Sometimes conflict without immediate resolve gives us reason to make wrong choices. Sometimes we can be so invested in a relationship, we neglect our other responsibilities. Marcus understands that this is wrong; #1 he’s never experienced this level of relational indulgence #2 he’s seeing other priorities in his life begin to tail off. Yet, he’s slow to “bounce back”. This is a navigation through that process.
