Folk-Noir Duo Plants a Rustic Forest in San Francisco
The new single from folk-noir duo Callow is a visceral howl crying out from a society left to rot. “Always About the Ones Who Have it All” pulls back a tattered curtain on the political and socio-economic state of the country, and counterbalances its dark shadow. With a velvet drone and rustic, earthy melody, the song crackles and burns like a smoldering fire. Mixed by Brandon Eggleston (Swans, Mountain Goats) and featuring Pall Jenkins (Black Heart Procession) on musical saw, it is the first single off the upcoming album, Mothdust, out October 19. The single also has a music video now up on YouTube.

Out now via Psycho Disco!, ‘Who Is She’ opens with the EP’s title track. Up next, GAWP’s dives into the depths of tech-house with a deep instrumental cut whose heavy bassline and retro synth sounds combine for a contemporary-meets-classic house music stunner.

Tallahassee, FL based Alternative Metal Band DEFY THE TYRANT has released the lyric video for their single, “VOICES.”
“Voices is one of the first songs we wrote with Curt (lead Singer) and it is Banging! We knew he had the pipes, but we didn’t realize the type of lyrics he was capable of. He blew us away! When people read the lyrics for the verses and the chorus, they will be able to get a good grasp on the mind Curt has. He has a completely fresh take on an age old issue. The idea of this constant secondary person that we all have inside us, this Id that we all deal with, its amazing how he put those ideas to song.” Defy the Tyrant

This past May, Black posted a statement about his battle with severe chronic lower lumbar pain as a result of genetics that read in part, “About everything you can have wrong with your lower back, I’ve got it. Spinal stenosis, scoliosis, degenerative disc disease – it goes on and on. It’s a long list and it’s been coming on for years. I had to stop standing to perform as a result of the pain.
