From Class Assignment to Certified Bop: Fulton Calvery’s “Kissable” Proves Pop Can Still Surprise
[WICHITA, KS]: What do you get when a Berklee lyric writing class meets undeniable stage charisma and genre-defying instincts? You get “Kissable,” the latest single from Wichita-based rocker Fulton Calvery, released on July 25, 2025, and it’s already sparking buzz far beyond the classroom.
Calvery didn’t plan to turn a school project into a streaming-ready anthem, but the response said otherwise. “I got an A on it,” he says with a laugh. “Then people kept asking me to play it again… so I figured it had legs.”
And they weren’t wrong. “Kissable” is an audacious blend of pop-rock attitude and cheeky charm, riding sultry vocals, guitar grit, and a chorus that refuses to let go: “Why you got to be so kissable? Makes me lose all my principles.” It’s a flirty thrill ride that bottles up the rush of instant chemistry and lets it explode through speakers.
Pulling sonic cues from Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo, and giving them a ragged Mick Jagger wink, Calvery blends mainstream sparkle with rock ‘n’ roll edge. “Kissable” was mixed and mastered by Carter Green, with percussion provided by Troy Schuster, and the result is a bold, radio-ready groove fit for night drives, spontaneous dances, and every crush-worthy moment in between.

About Fulton Calvery
Fulton Calvery is a rock artist rooted in Wichita, Kansas, where early exposure to the local club scene shaped his musical foundation. As a kid, he helped bands load gear just down the street from home. By 14, he was winning school talent shows. By 16, skipping the last class of the day to gig professionally. The road called and Calvery answered.
Over the years, he’s built a style that merges old-school rock with modern fire, pairing powerful guitar lines and introspective lyrics with an unmistakable storytelling streak. Songs like “Premonition” and now “Kissable” show his range: emotional, punchy, and unforgettable.
His passion has earned him serious milestones. At 29, he won a national guitar competition that landed him face-to-face with Van Halen: guitar in hand, signed by the legend himself. In 2018, Calvery was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame as part of the hard rock outfit Submytion.
But beyond riffs and records, Calvery is a storyteller at heart. Whether through live performances, lyric-driven narratives, or animated visuals, he invites fans into a world that’s funny, fierce, and full of feeling.
