Izzy Escobar Channels Adversity Into Empowering Debut Single
Izzy Escobar’s music is about loving one another the way we want to be loved ourselves. And having FUN along the way! Rising from a “never ending circle of violence” from an abusive stepparent, where she was voiceless in protecting her own family members, she began channeling that pain into lyrics–and eventually songs–at a very young age. “I began to write words, and soon realized that I could synchronize the words in my diary with the tune in my head” says the Massachusetts native, whose latest singles show how far she’s come from that frightened girl to a strong, capable woman who wants to spread her message of hope and strength to those who may face their own struggles. “A few years later, as I read through that same songbook, I noticed that I had made a shift from finding my voice to helping those who couldn’t find their own”.

LFZ Shares “Naturalistic” Track Via L.A. Record | New LP ‘Name Plus Focus’ Out 7/20 On Castle Face
L.A. Record has shared LFZ’s new track “Naturalistic.” LFZ is an ambient, experimental act and the pseudonym of guitarist Sean Smith. The single is the latest off his upcoming record, Name Plus Focus. When speaking on the song, Sean stated, “Where most of “Name Plus Focus” deals with airy themes, “Naturalistic” is elementally the most earthy piece on the record and is more about conjuring an image or place to ones mind than the usual emotional abstractions in my work. I visualize an ancient woodland ritual or a lumbering mammal or an insect on the move in the redwoods of Northern California, but the listener should experience the freedom to perceive natural spaces familiar to them.” Earlier this month, LFZ released the first single, “Name Plus Focus Equals Purpose” with BrooklynVegan.
Indie folk single from Mountain Lions – “California”
“California” is a personal journey of self-discovery, and one piece of the culmination of songwriting and storytelling that Steven Diaz (formerly of The Lighthouse and The Whaler) has crafted over the past five years. The upbeat and glistening melody tells the story of setting your sights on the goal, but being present in the entire journey. It rejoices in the kinetic energy of the road. Diaz explains, “It has some ties to Jack Kerouac because the road is a fun place to be, especially in between landmarks. For me, it’s a reminder to enjoy the process and not wish that I was there already.”
