Richie + Rosie to Release ‘Nowhere In Time’
Richie and Rosie, the power duo known for their unique harmonies and unmatched talent, announce the release of their second full-length record, Nowhere in Time, on November 10, 2017. This morning, Folk Radio UK premiered their first single and video from the album, “Waterbound”.
After three years of touring and writing, the duo returned to the studio last December to record Nowhere in Time with producer Alex Perialas at Pyramid Sound Studios. The album highlights the incredibly-refined skill of both musicians — and while the majority of the album is a simple combination of fiddle, banjo, and captivating melodies, the duo manages to pack an incredibly full sound. “At the beginning, we were thinking it might be a project with lots of other people involved, more of a big production. As we went through it, we realized that the magic lies within the duo. We have an intimacy of music and we feel the power of two people playing. That’s who we are,” said Rosie.

When the The All-American Rejects embarked on their recent musical release, Sweat, they called on director Jason Bergh to document their most intimate visual exploration to date for the short documentary, “Rejected.” Bergh, who has worked with frontman Tyson since 2005, jumped headfirst into an ambitious behind-the-scenes journey that he hoped would reveal a completely new dimension of the band. “As soon as Tyson sent over the new record, I was hooked. Tyson’s boundless creative energy is nothing short of infectious.” Over the course of 5 days and with unlimited access, Bergh crafted a stirring cinematic poem that reflects the vision and creativity for which the band has become known over the last 18 years.

Shawn Mendes and Red Cross team up for Mexico Earthquake Relief
Today, singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes, announced that he is partnering with Red Cross to raise money and bring awareness to those in need after a devastating earthquake hit Mexico on Tuesday September 19. The campaign, launching as a fundraiser on CrowdRise, part of GoFundMe, is raising funds for immediate and urgent relief efforts in Mexico. The singer was in Mexico City during the quake preparing for his show on September 20, which was cancelled due to the state of emergency and out of respect for the ongoing relief efforts.

Long before East LA’s newest indie power trio became Lone Kodiak, singer/guitarist Dainéal Parker and bassist Daniel Alden were in a Portland band called Emberghost. Having risen to the upper ranks of a crowded PDX “post-hardcore” scene with their aggressive mix of anger and sorrow, Emberghost reliably sold out large venues like The Roseland and earned itself a trip to NYC to meet with Sony Music. To celebrate the announcement of Power Station at BerkleeNYC, Berklee and New York’s Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) hosted a launch party at the Manhattan studio on Tuesday. At the event, Berklee presented an American Master Award to Grammy Award-winning musician and producer Rick DePofi, recognizing and honoring him for his lifetime of work in the industry, and for his initial vision for BerkleeNYC. It was DePofi who approached Pete Muller, Berklee trustee and founder and CEO of PDT Partners, with the idea of buying Avatar Studios and collaborating with the institution to establish a New York presence.

“‘Hello Summer’ actually came to me from Thomas Rhett who had co-written the song while writing for his own album with his dad Rhett Akins, Jaren Johnston and his producer Julian Bunetta” Bradbery explains. “He felt like the song could be re-written with a female perspective and so I sat down with his dad Rhett, and he re-wrote some of the lyrics to fit my voice. Julian agreed to produce it, and I’m so proud of how it turned out. It’s one of the few I didn’t co-write myself but I feel it really speaks to the same emotional theme of the record and pushes the boundaries sonically into new territory for me.”
