Toronto, Canada’s Hard Rock icons Never Say Die (featuring Members of My Darkest Days) have announced the release of their second single titled “Like A Nightmare” off of their forthcoming debut album set to release in late January 2017. The band will embark on a 50 plus date US tour beginning in January through April of 2017 in support of the new release with bands Another Lost Year and VYCES. NSD will be performing songs off the new album as well as favorites from My Darkest Days. Dates will be announced in late December.

WARNER BROS. RECORDS ARTISTS NOMINATED FOR ELEVEN 2017 GRAMMY AWARDS
Warner Bros. Records artists representing multiple genres from across the label’s roster, including Rock, Pop, R&B, New Age and Country, have been nominated for eleven 2017 Grammy Awards by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS), it was announced today.
Lukas Graham have earned three Grammy nominations in the highly coveted categories: Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, all for the album track “7 Years.” The nominations round out a remarkable year for the Danish band, led by vocalist Lukas Forchhammer, who released their self-titled debut album earlier this year and since then have solidified their status as 2016’s biggest breakout act. Their hit single “7 Years” is the highest-selling single by a debut artist this year, and the third highest-selling single of the year overall.

Guitarist, singer, harmonica player, and songwriter Mark Porkchop Holder is a founding member of the seminal Tennessee punk-rock/blues band The Black Diamond Heavies (with John Wesley Myers, aka James Leg, and Van Campbell of the band King Mud).
Holder plays the blues, and his music is the sound of the truth. He has traveled around the world and the U.S., and played at festivals, clubs, in the streets, at churches, in public toilets, army surplus stores and in a mental hospital or two. After more than a decade of struggling with depression and addiction, he has finally come back home, in Chattanooga TN, and assembled a first rate power trio.
MAINLAND debut new song “Dummy Test”
“When Mainland made their entrance onto the New York music scene four years ago, the band described their sound to us as “something you can shake your hair to really crazy”—which is perhaps most true of their latest, peppy release “Dummy Test,” premiering exclusively here as our track of the week.
“Dummy Test” departs from the three-piece’s earlier, gentler tracks with a rough-and-ready sense of urgency. Mainland’s frontman, Jordan Topf, describes this new sound as a collage, “cut, torn, and pieced together.” Accordingly, “Dummy Test” was written by Mainland in layers. “We started with those angular guitar stabs,” Topf explains, “and the lyrics came naturally afterwards.” The result is rowdy and playful; a jolty guitar undercuts Topf’s vocals, punctuated by a spiky drumbeat.

When speaking about the relationship between the two tracks Sondre stated, “The night before I was going to record I’m Always Watching You, I awoke from dream about the song. In the dream the song was slower, anchored by a sluggish dub-groove, and a narrative that was turning on me: I was being watched. I had been found out. It proved impossible to bridge the dream with the more natural, realistic version that became the original take on the song. But I couldn’t let go of the dream, and the hazy recording I made on my phone in the middle of that night became my guide for a different take on the same dream. A response, of sorts: I’m Always Watching You Too.” Sondre Lerche will embark on both a European and U.S. tour next year.

“This Feeling” is the intro track to the Iridescent Flower Child EP, which is in essence the introduction to my story and existence in the music world. “This Feeling” was originally written in my home studio along with my friend Lee Ackred and later reproduced with Josh Holiday. Lee was messing around in Logic and created a really sexy two track loop and I just got on the mic and started singing what came to me. I was recalling the feeling I felt when I stepped off stage from my first show. When I started my set there were maybe 30 people in the venue and when I finished there were about 100 people giving me a standing ovation. It was pure euphoria and as small as the show was I recall it as one of the best experiences I have ever had. Josh and I came back to the song a few years later to create the final product. The song is about the feeling of euphoria, feeling it for the first time, and trying desperately to bottle up the sensation and keep it forever. The video was shot by Ben Johnson Creative. I wanted the video to capture the feel of the entire EP, specifically the title.

There will also be a Nef The Pharoah signing and a special speak-eazy listening session with P-LO & Kool John along with other events throughout. The pop up will also serve as a hub for charity donations through out the entire week culminating with Mr. Fab’s annual toy drive. Fans visiting the pop are encouraged to bring two unwrapped toys to support. G-Eazy will be partnering with local charities surrounding the event and collecting monetary donations for victims of the Oakland fire as well in a continued effort to give back. Additionally, a number of specialty items will be available for purchase including highlights from G’s current merch offering along with never released G-Eazy items and collaborations with the Oakland A’s, New Era, Levi’s and more.
Grammar Shares New Track “Michigan” via Stereogum
“Michigan” is the second single from Massachusetts-based Grammar. Barrie Lindsay played and recorded all the parts in her bedroom studio in the summer of 2016. She started writing the song after rewatching the Virgin Suicides, and she was thinking about what the movie would sound and feel like as a song. She wanted to capture the movie’s saturated, dreamy, 1970s-inspired production. After she finished the song and took it to New York to work with the producer Billy Pavone, they ran the tracks
LOKOMOKO Premieres Single, “More Love” via IMPOSE
Born out of desire to plat guitar rather than a laptop in 2015 the egg-and-rice-named duo soon grew out of the bedroom and comfort zone to become a 5-piece live-band. They since joined New York City based music company ODDWOP who saw them at one of their first shows in Hamburg, Germany, calling them talented cats. They released their first single, “More Love” in 2016 and are about to shoot out a couple more songs via their first EP, “Harold Weir” in January 2017.
