Slumberjack has shared the official video for their latest song, “Open Fire,” their huge collaboration with Australian icon Daniel Johns of Silverchair. With approximately 24 million internet addicted children in China, the video tells a speculative tale of the digital age, where lines are blurred between online and real life. Reaching #10 on the Hype Machine charts with over half a million streams online and national airplay, “Open Fire” is the first cut off their forthcoming EP, slated for later this year.
The song is the first taste from the Perth duo since sharing Enigma (ft. GRRL PAL), which clocked 3.5 million streams online, peaked at #4 on the Hype Machine charts, and was hailed by the likes of Beats 1’s Anna Lunoe. Praised for their unique electronic sound, Slumberjack’s debut self-titled EP charted at #2 in the iTunes Electronic charts. The release features Hype Machine topper Horus, which is currently the soundtrack to the global Tom Ford campaign and has hit 3 million streams online.
