Blake Bedsaul pulls back the curtain on the deeper meaning behind the song, saying, “‘Looking to Fight’ is a moment of introspection. Julia Bardo Debuts New Single/Video “No Feeling” via FLOOD

Brescia, Italy-born, Manchester, UK-based artist Julia Bardo today shared a captivating video for her new single “No Feeling,” which previews her forthcoming debut album Bauhaus, L’Appartamento, out September 10th via Wichita Recordings. The upbeat track snaps with the dynamic bite of PJ Harvey or St. Vincent, and its accompanying Georgie Brown-directed clip—premiering today at FLOOD Magazine—is a gorgeously styled depiction of feeling stuck in an endless loop of responsibilities. “‘No Feeling’ is about doing things just because you exist, not because you want to actually do them,” explains Bardo. “We’re trapped in a cycle of rules in society: you must have a job, go out, drink, talk to people, be sociable, believe in something, and do what other people do in order to survive in this world. Sometimes even the most mundane tasks seem too much to handle.”

Evan Wright (ffo Jacco Gardner, Cory Hanson) | Shares new single on Solitaire

This body of work comes entirely mixed, produced and recorded by the California-born, New Jersey-raised, now New York-based Evan, partially in his apartment before he had to decamp to his parents’ place in NJ due to Covid (which is where he ultimately completed it). It’s a lovely fusion of country-folk-tinged psychedelia which holds some comparisons with the likes of Andy Shauf and Cut Worms, but also with the slightly more psych-indie shades of Kurt Vile, Jacco Gardner and Cory Hanson.
