RICKY DIETZ is a duo who are both lauded artists in their own rights – made up of Pierre Baigorry (a.k.a. Peter Fox from the German reggae / dancehall band Seeed who are absolutely huge – they sold 140k tickets in Berlin alone when they put their last shows on sale) with Toronto-born, Berlin based R&B singer Sway Clarke. Sway is not only an amazing vocalist who’s had previous support from the likes of The FADER, COLORS, etc., but also an internationally tested songwriter who’s written for the likes of John Legend and Tinie Tempah.

Today (April 23rd), Liz Lawrence shares ‘Where The Bodies Are Buried’, a raucous call-to-arms that comes with the announcement of a twelve date UK headline tour in September & October 2021 and a performance at All Points East Festival this summer.

Written during a heatwave, when people were stuck indoors and protests were breaking out all over the country, the track is a heavy, taut portrait of controlled chaos that fluctuates between melodic indie-pop and an explosive chorus. ‘When the people want blood, you better give them blood’ she commands over a biting guitar line.

‘Oh Love’ opens the beautiful atmospheric indie-folk record, which incorporates a wide range of instrumentation with lush guitars, synths, keys, brass and more, all enveloped in decadent vocal harmonies creating a vast, expansive sound.

The previous inspirations from bands like Grieved, No Omega, Trap Them etc., can still be found in the music, but the focus on “Nothing Is Good” has shifted to a heavier and more metallic sound, in a larger style than before, with bands such as Brutality Will Prevail, END and Power Trip.

Marc Houle shares music video for INIT’s “Wrestle”

The German duo INIT, consisting of Nadia D’Alò and Benedikt Frey, have shared their latest EP “Wrestle” on March 26th via the label and multi-channel platform Sound Of Berlin. Their release is followed by the music video, which was created by fellow producer/DJ Marc Houle.

About the video, Marc Houle says: “When I listened to the track, I heard some elements of early 80s synth going on. And although I’d always been a bit fascinated with the vaporwave movement, I felt it a little overplayed sometimes. So I thought I’d make a play on the compounded theme emerging which was the death of vaporwave in my mind. I created 3 dream worlds in Blender and had the drums and vocals trigger certain events. Then the fun part started when I got to the destruction phase and transformed the dreams into a sort of dismal reality.”

South-east London born and bred, Flo was raised around music, her dad made songwriting feel like breathing. Without it she would choke. So, she sat, scribbling words, diarising an everyday life through the musicality and soul of a natural artist that would eventually emerge, fully formed, as a friend in your ears.

BLINKIE TEAMS UP WITH HOUSE GOSPEL CHOIR FOR POWERFUL NEW ANTHEM ‘STRONGER’

London-based producer Blinkie has joined forces with House Gospel Choir on new single ‘Stronger’, out today.

A powerful collaboration, ‘Stronger’ displays a moving, spoken word vocals combined with the soulful sounds of HGC and a majestic house production that grows in intensity and atmosphere across the track’s three-and-a-half minutes. ‘Stronger’ is the result of Blinkie feeling present, feeling stable, feeling strong and being in a good place after months of struggling with his mental health during the suffocating lockdown that has characterised the last year or so.
