Vocalist, composer, and vocal coach Michalis Latousakis, also known as Lupe, was born in 1991 in Athens, Greece. Lupe’s first step into the music industry was the formation of Mosquito in 2014, a gothic rock band, releasing the “Colorless” demo (2014). and its debut album, entitled “Interlacing Eternity” (2017), via the Brazilian label, Deepland Records.

Executive produced by longtime friend and collaborator ayokay, the album was created from the uninspiring throes of quarantine when Quinn XCII decided to shake up his creative routine and left L.A. for ayokay’s family vacation home in the seaside town of Newport, Rhode Island. There they set up a makeshift studio in the living room and after two full week-long trips, they created an endlessly radiant body of work that fully captures the pure joy and camaraderie of its creation.

In speaking about the track, Au/Ra says: “I wrote ‘Dead Girl!’ when I was feeling especially out of place when I came back home. Being away for a while left me feeling disconnected from a lot of people. I think of myself as a pretty introverted, sometimes anxious person – feeling out of place isn’t new. I was so done with judging myself and feeling judged. I felt that especially during high school, so I really channeled all that ‘grrrr’ energy into the song. Olivia Morreale Releases New Single “Parasomnia”
“PARASOMNIA” is a dreamy wonderland of gauzy synths, infectious bass and intricately layered vocal chops. Inspired by the way in which subconscious thoughts and desires are unlocked through dreams, it was important to Olivia for the song to lyrically and sonically reflect the innermost psyche. “It sounds like a normal pop song until the breakdown/bridge, where it warps into a sort of nightmarish and dark space,” she writes. “We [Olivia and her co-collaborator, Eli Koskoff] let the idea of a nightmare and of the thoughts we can’t control be our guiding force during the production.”

Swedish psychedelic rock orchestra Nephila release “Belladonna” on Friday, March the 5th. “Belladonna” is the second single leading up to the band’s debut album “Nephila” and is premiered by Doomed and Stoned.
Nephila is the latest addition to The Sign Records. Offering a dreamy and psychedelic sound expressed with theatrical visualizations, the band is set to release their self-titled debut album in summer 2021.
