Karma Kids’ ‘Chemical Drugs’ EP Now Streaming Everywhere
Indianapolis’ Karma Kids was formed in 2019 by Jon Benjamin and Zaac Wesco. Both members had backgrounds in emo, pop punk, and metalcore and decided to fuse the genres into their newly dubbed “emocore”. In the spring of 2020, they released the double album “Dystopian Dream”. The following months led to the band focusing more on the “emo” side of “emocore” leading them to start writing what would become the “Chemical Drugs” EP, which is out now.

JAMES BLAKE RELEASES NEW EP “BEFORE”

The 4 track EP is an homage to his London club days, as Blake returns to his roots on these deep and immersive dancefloor tracks while showcasing the evolution of his music. New Music From Jacob Banks “The Devil That I Know” Out Now On Interscope Records
The stripped-down production of “Devil That I Know” highlights Banks’ emotive vocals. His rich baritone trembles over delicate piano lines and wordless hums as he sings: “We can’t get any higher / We can’t get past messiah.” His songwriting is always captivating, but he shines brightest when he’s singing about the knotty complexities of love, as he does here. The video captures something similar, as Banks and his new bride drive through the countryside tailing cans from their sedan as small elements of doubt, doom, and danger appear and subside.
“Still was one of the biggest surprises because it ended up being sad, sexy, and soothing all at once. I referred to it as a ‘soft bop’. Crow, my producer, played me the beat and guitar sketch, and the melody just whispered out. I was in the midst of feeling unrequited love, so the lyrics came quite naturally as well.”

ZAYDE WØLF RELEASES “BORN READY (REIMAGINED)”
Nashville’s Zayde Wølf has released “Born Ready (Reimagined)” a reinterpretation of one of Wølf’s most beloved songs “Born Ready,” from his debut full length album Golden Age. “Born Ready (Reimagined)” is part of a series that sees Zayde Wølf mastermind Dustin Burnett reinterpreting some of his most popular songs. “Last year I hit one of those songwriting walls,” says Burnett on how the concept of the series started. “I couldn’t get over it. No new idea seemed compelling. I was listening to alot of soundtracks and started writing mini orchestral type themes and song ideas and mixing those with my older songs. The best news is that these reimagined songs have helped me break out of the creativity slump.” Wølf will be releasing an EP of these “Reimagined” songs on October 30th.

It was one of the songs that didn’t make it onto the album Spook The Herd as it didn’t fit sonically or narratively. It felt like it came from another place. So we began putting together this EP. We wanted to sculpt an intimate “headphones” record. One for the introverts and dreamers, the ones that still find beauty and magic in things.
