Michelle Ullestad is a 27-year-old Norwegian singer and songwriter who writes and sings in Norwegian.
Those are the basic details. We can also say that Michelle Ullestad is an unselfconsciously brilliant singer and songwriter, live performer and ball of energy. She has moved from writing dark, introspective acoustic songs to bright, addictive pop songs with dark self-analysis at their heart. The big things, but also the small day to day irritations, as well as being a young woman coping with ADHD, trauma and being a (single) mother in 2021.
K.Flay releases new EP ‘Outside Voices’
Today, alt-rocker K.Flay (the stage name of Kristine Flaherty) releases her new EP Outside Voices – the second half of her 2021 two-part EP release exploring the endless complexities of her inner world.
With the help of longtime collaborator friend Tommy English, Sir Sly’s Jason Suwito (MisterWives, Fitz and the Tantrums), and Fast Friends (a trio whose credits include X Ambassadors and Saint Motel), K.Flay created a brilliant body of work that showcases why she is a trailblazer in the alt-pop genre.
