Tor Lundvall shares new video / single ‘Drowning’, ‘Beautiful Illusions’ LP out Dec. 10 on Dais Records
These are certainly songs of shadowplay and vaulted skies, the quiet grandeur of dusk deepening on the horizon. Lundvall characterizes the lyrical subject matter, too, in ways both specific and surreal, exploring “the doubts, the anxieties and even the bleak fantasies the mind spirals into during moments of isolation, separation and distance.” Tricks of the eye, mind, and ear, magnified by silence and the looming long winter.

Rush Davis + Kingdom Present New Single/Video “Love Is Blood”
Brimming with creative angst due to the downtime that 2020 brought, the origins of Transmission began when Kingdom sent Rush the instrumental of the urgent and angular beat for “Love Is Blood” that no other songwriter could seem to nail due to the challenging rhythm and chords. “When I heard that track, everything in me shattered into a million pieces,” says Davis. At that moment, he reflected on the genius of his friend Kingdom and the beauty and evolution of the relationships attending Mustache Mondays, the legendary queer party in Los Angeles, co-founded by the late Nacho Nava. Rush’s lyrics are a testament to those years. “When commitment withstands delayed gratification it gives birth to TRUST,” Davis continues. “‘Love is Blood’ is a blood oath. ‘I cut you / Now you cut me / Be sure to go deep / To the sick part of me / Give it air let it breathe.’ This song is a battle cry for love, a reminder that love has teeth and fight. Whether this devotion is offered to a lover, a goal, a friend, or to family. Love is BLOOD and the sacrifice is TIME, STAYING, and STANDING for the ones you say you love.”

Today, Singapore-born, London-based artist Nat Ćmiel, a.k.a yeule, shares visuals for their latest offering from their upcoming album Glitch Princess, due 4th February 2022 via Bayonet Records. ‘Friendly Machine’ is a pixelated, tonal journey anchored with light drums and yeule’s layered confessional vocalisations. The video sees yeule donning bright green hair in a pink-walled room dancing and contorting. These shots are spliced with uncanny imagery of artworks shredded and painted over. The visuals represent the illusion of safety through institutionalisation, the digital mask being a false idea of identity and preconceived notions of mental health and the way people should behave in societal functions.
WALT DISCO RELEASE NEW SINGLE “MACILENT”
Speaking on the new single, frontperson James explains “Macilent was written with Jessica Winter in August the day after the 3 trans women were attacked in Hollywood. All we could think about that day was the violence that trans and queer people face every-day. We wanted the song to convey the fear that we feel, the disgust, the exhaustion, but also the fading hope that it doesn’t have to be the way things are “We could be together, if you weren’t so violent”.
