Melbourne-based artist Acchy (Lachlan Sallabank) has spent the past couple of years releasing punchy singles in an instantly identifiable sound. The string of releases over this past year proves the undeniable fountain of creativity, dedication and hard work that is this fledgling alternative artist. Now Acchy is ready to unleash his new larger-than-life track ‘My Cyanide’.

At the onset of the clip, a familiar pixelated-hourglass flickers as chimes indicate the reboot of an old school Windows ’95 desktop. The folder with the video opens and chaos ensues. Yung Skayda toils away in a nondescript corporate office, chugging cups of coffee while Pussy Riot’s Nadya Tolokonnikova appears on the computer screen as a nun-turned-dominatrix only to place Skayda in an uncompromising position. Meanwhile, Karm The Tool rips up the streets on his skateboard before breaking his cohort out of his Office Space-style hell. It might just be the pair’s most insane visual yet.

Don McLean’s 1971 masterpiece American Pie was released 50 years ago on October 24, 1971. Both the song “American Pie” went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 4 weeks at #1 in the first two months of 1972. The album also went to #1 for 3 consecutive weeks in January 1972. His many accolades include induction into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame, his song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, and artists of all genres and generations have covered his songs including Madonna, Fred Astaire, Chet Atkins, Weird Al Yankovic, Elvis Presley, Josh Groban, and Perry Como. MORDOM: San Diego Death/Doom Duo To Release Cry Of The Dying World Full-Length Via Transylvanian Recordings; New Track Streaming + Preorders Available

MORDOM was forged in 2018 by bassist/vocalist Max Hoffman and drummer Nathan Gonzalez. Though Gonzalez didn’t play on the band’s 2020 Eternal Solitude demo — crowned a “grave monument of a demo” by Decibel Magazine for its “original and soul-stirring sound, quite unlike anything we’ve heard before” — Hoffman sought him out specifically to assist in the manifestation of latest offering, Cry Of The Dying World. Together, the pair reworked the band’s sound, dropping guitars entirely and blending Finnish death/doom influences with sludge, crust punk, and post-rock. Above all, the pair seeks to create metal that is simultaneously bleak, punishing, and emotionally moving, expressing living in a world being torn apart by hatred, greed, and climate change.

DISCONNECTED SOULS Release New Single

DISCONNECTED SOULS have teamed up with Terra Relicta to premiere their single “Petrichor”. The song is set to be released on November 12 2021. Inspired by the natural phenomenon of petrichor – a distinctive earthy scent often experienced after a heavy storm, the combination of metal and classical instrumentation delivers a haunting portrayal of nature at work.

“The new single is incredibly experimental; we’re continuously looking for new ways to compose tracks and create something unique. Holly has been wanting to compose a track around the theme of petrichor for a while and lockdown provided the opportunity to do so. It’s organized chaos, the structure is inspired by various classical styles just taken much further!”
