City Mouse “Magnituted” EP Out Today!
City Mouse began when Miski Dee Rodriguez walked away from a hustle and bustle corporate world in Los Angeles, CA and sold her soul to rock n’ roll. Touring relentlessly for the past 15 years, the band has played their hearts out across the U.S.A., U.K., Europe, Canada and Mexico. City Mouse have released several singles and a full-length record Get Right (produced by Mass Giorgini) on Southern California-based independent label It’s Alive Records. City Mouse songs deliver on an emotional level with every note and word. Whether empowering or heartbreaking, each song is crafted and played with an honesty and passion that commands attention and draws you in deep. Miski Dee is currently working on a new full length album with her current line-up that is anticipated for release January 2022. The band hails from wherever Miski Dee calls home base at any given time (currently, Tampa, FL) and that is often somewhere new.
On November 19, UMe and Eagles Of Death Metal’s Jesse “Boots Electric” Hughes join forces to gift us all with Eagles of Death Metal Presents A Boots Electric Christmas, a six-track EP sure to bring much needed holiday cheer to the ears and hearts of every little girl and boy. The EP will be available on CD and all digital formats.
Hughes puts his signature aural alter-ego Boots Electric stamp on a half-dozen electrified interpretations of perennial holiday classics that include “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Put A Little Love In Your Heart,” “O Holy Night,” “Little Drummer Boy,” and “Little Town Of Bethlehem.” The sonic highlight rounding out the EP is an extraordinary, and quite stirring, a cappella rendition of “O Holy Night” featuring Hughes and EODM bandmate Joshua Homme on vocals.

“I have to thank my friend Ben Hopwood for the inspiration behind “Mouse Mask”. He challenged me to write something loosely based on some of the musical and lyrical themes of the nursery rhyme “Three Blind Mice”, which, like many such songs, is much darker and more sinister than its jolly exterior might suggest. The lyrics tell a story about a man who has become embroiled in something pretty horrible and is metaphorically wearing a mask to separate himself from the reality of his situation. His dreams are dead, but he also experiences freedom and relief in accepting that nothing really matters anymore. Musically, The song fuses folk-inspired melodies with dark synthesizer soundscapes”
