Metronomy today announce details of their seventh studio album Small World, out on 18th February 2022 via Because Music. The Joseph Mount fronted collective also share Small World’s lead single ‘It’s good to be back’, a spiky synth-laden return with a video, by directing duo Dreamjob, that finds all of Metronomy’s band members in an uncanny Truman show-esque universe, each of them trying to hold onto a chaotic kind of joy while existing in a Groundhog Day scenario of dying and then living the same thing over and over.
Abi Ocia unveils impassioned new single & video
Steeped in yearning and pure emotion, ‘LTWYLM’ channels a bubbling 80s synth-pop sound that allows Ocia’s fervent vocals to take centre stage. The nostalgic, heart-on-sleeve official video accompanying the track is directed by Helena Coan, who directed the critically acclaimed film Audrey: More Than An Icon. Providing a perfect visual encapsulation of the song’s mood and energy, the visual sees Ocia passionately moving across a dance-floor, while reflecting on interspersed clips of time spent with an ephemeral love.
SNAKE BITE WHISKY New Official Video For The ‘Creep Show’
Australia’s number one heavy outlaw sleaze rock band, Snake Bite Whisky, release the third single and video off their critically acclaimed second album, Black Candy which was released globally by Sliptrick Records (Europe) on the March 30th, 2021. Creep Show is a celebration of the outcasts of society, the weird and wonderful, strange and sexy. The song sonically twists from outlaw country style vocals on the verses to sleaze metal in the pre-chorus and chorus. The video itself is full of striking black and white visuals and outlandish, dark, sexy characters cavorting to the lounge band from hell. Evocative imagery pulls from classic horror tropes to portray the over the top insanity of the Creep Show and is the sleaze rock anthem for Halloween.

CODY FROST SHARES THE NEW SINGLE ‘BERLIN’ – WATCH THE HALLOWEEN-THEMED VIDEO HERE
Inspired by the hyperpop scene and especially 100 gecs, ‘Berlin’ is full-on maximalist madness: thumping, trap-inspired beats, sinister industrial-tinged synths, and Cody’s voice bathed in autotune. It’s a song that emerged in two different time periods. The idea first came when she was in a cafe in Berlin during a trip to see Enter Shikari, and it was later finished during the peak of the pandemic.
GASPAR NARBY SHARES THE NEW SINGLE ‘DEATH & OTHER THINGS’ – WATCH THE VIDEO HERE
‘Death & Other Things’ is the first example of his new approach, first writing everything on guitar and then crafting the production once the song is completed. The result is a tender sound led by acoustic guitar and his vulnerable, whispered vocal – a sonic approach that leaves the turbulent emotions that he explores with no place to hide. While it still deploys engagingly unconventional production elements, Gaspar Narby’s electronic textures are now placed in a style that feels closer to Sufjan Stevens or Bonobo’s most minimalist and organic moments.
Ireland’s rising stars Tolü Makay and Malaki join forces for hazy new single ‘The Light’
A soothing offering that reflects on success and happiness, the collaboration blends Tolü Makay’s soulful R&B sound with Malaki’s impassioned rap flow as he delivers a punchy verse about breaking free from social norms. As both artists are strong advocates of mental health – Malaki tackled his personal battles with depression on new EP ‘DFTTYM’, while Tolü Makay’s debut EP ‘Being’ explored self-love – ‘The Light’ poignantly demonstrates their move towards finding self acceptance and celebrating progression.

GRAMMY NOMINATED ASIAHN RETURNS WITH R&B SINGLE “WE CAN”
Like a lot of Asiahn’s upbeat songs, “We Can” is hot, heavy, and uncompromising. Swift drum patterns shuffle underneath flutters of flute and sax as Asiahn swoops in to assert her place in a relationship. “Don’t got permission to fall in love with me,” she sings. “Unless I tell you so.” The whole track is fun and fierce, and it’s punctuated by two interludes from Eartha Kitt, who talks about love and compromise and falling for oneself first and foremost—a sentiment that also holds true throughout Asiahn’s lovingly rendered songs.
