Track Released Today from Dream Tonic
Kristin Allen-Farmer, aka Dream Tonic, is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter, singer, arranger and producer. As a classically trained pianist with an appetite for dance music, Dream Tonic’s style of approaching composition is an eclectic blend of two seemingly diverse worlds. Dream Tonic’s musical work is both dreamy and gritty. With breathy, ethereal vocals riding over the top of lush, warm pads and heavy subs, her music embraces you in a cocoon of sound. She is excited to release her first ever single with a lot more music just around the corner.
RAIBARD are streaming their new single “Angel of the Clockwork” now on The Ripple Effect.
RAIBARD Comments: “This song was written about and is dedicated to Neil Ellwood Peart 1952 – 2020. Rarely does the world get to encounter such a multi-faceted, and supremely talented soul. We are all left the lesser for his parting; yet his journey through the world leaves behind a significant mark in the worlds of family and friendship, music, poetry, and scholarship.”

Arizona indie-rock band Wild Giants have just dropped their new single, “Why Aren’t We Freaking Out?” a thought-provoking anthem that makes listeners stop and think about the acknowledgment of aliens. With constantly changing news cycles, some major news events do not get the attention they may deserve. “The day the Pentagon opened the lid on UFOs by publicly confirming their existence and alien origins, I assumed the world as we knew it would forever be changed. Overnight, us ‘tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists’ were proven right. The revelation was seemingly swept under the rug by the general public, but I couldn’t keep my mind off of it. I kept asking myself, ‘Why aren’t we freaking out?’,” explains lead singer and guitarist Austin. Produced by Dan Parker, “Why Aren’t We Freaking Out?” is the third single off of the group’s forthcoming EP, Hey There, Slow Down, Help Me. Visit WildGiantsMusic.com.

Although neither planned and nor wanted, “Cabin Fever” is the Australian singer-songwriter’s lockdown-song. Having written the track in the middle of 2020, the beautiful song is an observation of his own feelings while watching the world through his window. “I lost perspective and generally felt really weird,” he says. “It was a really rainy May and I’d just sit in my room watching people with umbrellas and wonder about the broadest topics.”

The track was written by band-members Jaren Johnston and Neil Mason. Speaking on the new video, Neil comments, “After seeing Nashville based animator, Shane Pielock’s work in a video by local indie artist, Tomorro Tomorro, we loved how he was able to create something visually compelling and narratively complete with simple line drawings. Even if it’s just a drawing of a question mark by itself in the middle of the screen, there’s something cool about it.

When Paulo and Sano, Contento’s two expatriate Colombian compadres, met a decade ago at an Eddie Palmieri concert in Berlin, they discovered a mutual passion for salsa. During a three-year period between 2016 and 2019, they got together whenever possible between Paulo’s base in Geneva and Sano’s in Barcelona to explore their musical passion and lay down a debut album. Lo Bueno Está Aquí crystallised what Paulo describes as “a new salsa sound that may also make [listeners] want to discover some of the older sounds, too,” and in the process garnered such artistic and critical success that the UK’s The Guardian chose it as their Global Album of the Month in November 2020, with Bandcamp also giving it Album of the Day honours.

Political popstar PYRA explores destructive human nature with CGI model in “hole heart”
Taken from Pyra’s forthcoming EP fkn bad pt. 2, Pyra delivers a powerful yet bleak message about the destructive nature of humanity; the song is further explored in a provocative video, featuring unsettling shots of a menacing CGI cyborg model of the pop-activist with her chest removed to reveal an insight into the hollow and broken nature of humanity – ending with a terminal emulator glitching and fading out to black as the song’s closing electric guitars similarly malfunction into an abyss of nothing.
