Soul Blind conjure a ‘90s alt-rock fever dream on new single “Third Chain”

Today, Hudson Valley, NY quartet, Soul Blind, have shared “Third Chain”, the lead single off their upcoming EP of the same name set for release on September 16th. “Third Chain” is guitar-laden rock at its finest; fiercely melodic and groovy with an angular heaviness that recalls Mezcal Head-era Swervedriver. The video is a swirling kaleidoscope of performance shots filmed through a fisheye lens, depicting a style and color palette evocative of the bands that influenced them. On the three-song EP, Soul Blind provides a contemporary sensibility to the fuzzed-out sounds of ’90s alt-rock and grunge, while tackling the emotions that come with self-reflection and outward relationships. Recorded with Jon Markson and Adam Cichocki, Third Chain will be the band’s first release with Other People Records. You can check out the video for “Third Chain” here now and stream the track here.

New Music Video by Dyzzi from DivSel & Farazi “Vent”

Dyzzi adds: “The song pretty much represents and explains why I’ve been distant from music. With everything going on in both the world and within my personal life, I’ve felt more lost than I’ve ever felt before. I started doing and thinking things I’ve never thought too much about before, and I’ve been extremely isolated with nobody to talk to hoping to somehow become inspired again to write. With me not being in contact with any of both my fellow artists and producers during this time, the beat pretty much approached/was offered to me at the perfect time. It sounded exactly how I felt inside so I knew where I wanted to go with it but I was finally able to write the song in one sitting once I picked up smoking, hence the line “smoking on this Gary Payton”, and something in me finally clicked telling me “You need to let out your frustrations. Vent.”.”

Italian (by way of the UK) Electroclash/Synthpunk artists Bikini Death Race announce their sophmore album “Refrigerator”.

Bikini Death Race are back with their second album “Refrigerator” a mix of punk, synth-pop and electronica, neon lights, distorted bass and liberating screams. The ironic, dadaist and nonsense approach of the first album is well preserved but with “Refrigerator”, the band have taken a deep dive into experimentation with analog synthesizers and drum machines – modelling a more defined sound by uniting the punk soul of their past with more varied and articulated songwriting. The resulting sound is also born out of a remote creative process cultivated while writing the album largely during the Covid-19 lockdown. Let’s get into the time machine…
