OBSIDIOUS Shares the Making of the “Iconic” Music Video
OBSIDIOUS bassist Linus Klausenitzer comments: “The ‘Iconic’ music video reflects the different musical aspects and the intensity of the song perfectly. It was quite a challenge to shoot it with a singer that we still haven’t met because of corona restrictions. But in the end we were able to create a concept without making any unsatisfying compromises.”
“please don’t waste my time” joins “birth by sleep” and “by myself,” – both previously released from never knows best – to form a trilogy tucked within boyband’s emotionally-charged project that magnifies how quickly dependency can send a blossoming relationship into a toxic and destructive spiral. “birth by sleep” and “by myself” create a captivating one-two punch of pop and punk, highlighting boyband’s dynamic ability to entangle the intricacies of hip hop, power-pop, and indie. Balancing a melancholy message – the struggle to overcome hopelessness borne from the fear of rejection – with mischievously catchy summer-pop songwriting, “birth by sleep” is juxtaposed by the frenzied and frantic atmosphere of second chapter, “by myself,” which parallels the apprehension, anxiety, and fear of being alone that the narrator experiences following an unexpected breakup. Meanwhile, “please don’t waste my time” makes it clear that hope is not lost.

Sampling the 1985 masterpiece “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” by Tears For Fears–the track’s producers, FaxOnly and BNYX® of WorkingOnDying, keep much of its rhythmic trickery intact–”Stop The World” finds the Rostrum Records signee in a romantic mood, as he skates atop the shuffle beat and declares his love for his woman: “For you baby, I will stop the world.”
Artist: Ato-Mik – Track: Blow My Mind
Ato-Mik connects their heartfelt lyrics with Green Alderson’s instrumental he made for the bros. As soon as they heard it, Ato-Mik knew they had to do something special with it. They stepped outside of their regular hip-hop aura to tap into their pop/r&b side adding melodic singing elements throughout the hook and Atom’s verse while Mikey comes in the second verse with a fast paced rap flow. This is a love song tapping into both sides of love and heartbreak.
