Efterklang Announce New LP “Windflowers”, Out 10/8/21 on City Slang

Today, celebrated Denmark trio Efterklang have announced a new album, Windflowers, which will be released on October 8th through City Slang, and have shared the album’s first single and accompanying video, “Living Other Lives”. On June 27th, Efterklang will hold a live-stream concert from the first edition of their Sommertræf (Danish for Summer Meet-Up). Viewers can expect a handful of new songs to be premiered. Tickets are available here. Efterklang will tour Europe throughout late 2021 and early 2022 before heading to the US for tour dates in Spring 2022 (all dates TBA).

The single expands the mythos behind the man, revealing a sunnier, almost Balearic sensibility in contrast with the hypercharged prog-dance maximalism that is his signature. Today, Shannon & The Clams share “Year Of The Spider,” the second single from their 6th studio album of the same name. The band shared the song’s influences with Consequence, which include The Muppets, disco floors, the Hindu goddess Durga, and Os Mutantes. Shannon Shaw said about the song, “‘Year of the Spider’ is essentially the summation of my 2019 and 2020. I was being stalked by a peeping Tom for months and months all while my dad was going through radiation treatment while the mountains around us were being ravaged by wildfires. It was an extremely intense time in my life and just could not dampen the desperate desire to feel safe.
