I had trailed off into writing about a girl that I liked. I described her as a warm wave of ocean water and that took me back to visiting Hilton Head Island with my family as a kid. My dad would take my brothers and me to the beach in the evening when the waves would be really big and we would get decked trying to boogie board into them. The bigger the waves, the better.

The Narcotix shares new single, “Lilith” from forthcoming debut EP, Mommy Issues

“”Lilith” was created in a tantric temple in Oakland, CA. She was also Adam’s wife before Eve, made from the clay whence Adam came instead of his rib. But that’s another story. Birthing her was our very own form of ritual. Bumbling Becky found the catchy keyboard riff (or perhaps it found her), and Esther swung her voice in a swirly pattern to match the surrounding smoke. Thus the zygote known as “Lilith” was formed.”

THE GRASSHOPPER LIES HEAVY: San Antonio Post Hardcore Trio To Release A Cult That Worships A God Of Death Full-Length July 16th Via Learning Curve Records

A Cult That Worships A God Of Death weaves post-hardcore, noise rock, and metal, mixed with a heroic dose of dark post-rock into a distinctly singular sonic tapestry. Boasting eight tracks, the record comes across like a two-headed beast, its first half, a scorching, riff-filled goliath that stomps and chugs with the fury of a cornered bull, while side-B bares the more prone side of the animal, with longer, more intricate, and introverted songwriting that allows its ideas to ruminate and evolve. Recorded during the 2020 lockdown, it’s a record that captures the chaos and tribulations of a year gone bad.

Scorpion Drenched Outlaw Pop

Raised in the desert of Arizona, DEVORA draws her inspiration from her roots, growing up around desert creatures in a western town, experiencing the sinister lawless side of desert life, and the characters she’s met along the way. In her modern goth-western vignettes she conjures images of ghost towns, dark rodeos, the haunted desert, abandoned motel rooms, skylines on fire, the open road and reckless tales of love and loss in a modern wild west.

“…empowering while also being true blue rock ‘n’ roll. In other words, it’s the perfect track to jam out to while also fighting against injustices. Clark turns into a real-life superhero fighting for animal rights, with her actual dog also animated right by her side…. powerful, but adding this visual accompaniment evokes plenty of extra emotion.” – BTR Today

Americana/Rock Group The FBR Bring Awareness to Addiction in Captivating New Video Premiered via American Blues Scene

Bandmates Malarie McConaha, lead singer and guitarist, and Tim Hunter, songwriter, guitarist, and singer, met in Leipers Fork, a small town outside of Nashville, at a local open mic. What initially began as an acoustic project between the pair, eventually grew to include producer Matt Sepanic. The band’s name, abbreviated for “Famous Blue Raincoat”, is a nod to a song by legendary singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen, one of the group’s main influences, who also had his roots in Leipers Fork at one point early in his career. The group views the small town as a “God thing”, a fated location where the band seamlessly came together.

Nearly a decade ago, Homer (a founding member of The Dap Kings) and Paul met in Minnesota through a family introduction. Shortly after, when Homer wasn’t playing drums for Lady Gaga or Adele or Bruno Mars, he’d produce Paul’s solo folk records. Along with original bassist and frequent collaborator Joe Harrison, these sessions proved to be Holy Hive’s foundation. And their debut album, 2020’s Float Back to You, expertly combined what each musician does best: Paul’s heady, reflective approach to folk with Homer’s universal classic soul sound.

New Video: Platinum Songwriter Joelii Drops New Music Video for ‘Amantes’

For the “Amantes” video, Joelii was inspired by Banda love songs and infused it with a slowed down reggaeton beat. Joelii comments on the track, “When the memory, final yet vivid, is all that is left. The taste of their lips linger on yours while a part of you is still warm from their touch.” He continues, “maybe you can settle in this fantasy for a moment while you await their return. Maybe it’s already been too long.” Directed by Roger Will, the new video beautifully captures the sentiments of “Amantes” in a series of shorts as Joelii sits in moments of longing and readiness.
