DRAWN AND QUARTERED: Seattle death metal masters stream new track via MetalSucks; LP ‘Congregation Pestilence’ out July via Krucyator Productions
Drawn and Quartered vocalist/bassist Herb Burke states: “The first preview track from ‘Congregation Pestilence’ comes in the hideous form of ‘Rotting Abomination (The Cleansing).’ Unearthed from the decomposing graves of ‘Proliferation of Disease,’ these unseemly pieces of neck-snapping and twisted riffery, crushing rhythms and merciless violence are stitched together with primitive outbursts of hatred towards humanity and its superstitions.”

Formed in San Francisco, Geographer is the moniker for now Los Angeles-based artist Mike Deni. “I hit a ceiling in San Francisco. I was writing a lot more songs with people in LA, so I moved down. I didn’t really have any friends and just spent way too much time alone, making music. I wasn’t thriving, I was surviving. Everything feels possible here. That’s the vibe of LA: You’ve made it to paradise! You should be really happy…and then nobody is. There’s a lot of darkness — you have to sift through everything to find your own path,” remarks Deni.

BENDIGO FLETCHER ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM FITS OF LAUGHTER
On Fits of Laughter, frontman Ryan Anderson crafts the patchwork poetry of his lyrics by serenely observing the world around him. When matched with the band’s gorgeously jangly collision of country and folk-rock and dreamy psychedelia, the result is story-songs graced with raw humanity, wildly offbeat humor, and a transcendent sense of wonder. For help in forging the album’s ragged elegance, Bendigo Fletcher worked with producer Ken Coomer (original drummer for Wilco and Uncle Tupelo), laying down the album in nine frenetic days. The album bears an undeniable immediacy, thanks in part to the band’s decision to limit the tracklist to eight essential songs (a move largely inspired by extraordinarily lean and iconic albums like Television’s Marquee Moon).
