Today sees the release of NOA: a music film, from musician Taylor Rogers and cinematographer Lillian Walker. The 45-minute film brings to life the songs from Taylor’s 2019 NOA album. The thirteen separate vignettes, within, work together to collectively examine experiences of loss, grief, and rebuilding. Each song is performatively reinterpreted by a variety of different Chicago-based artists, with backgrounds as diverse as dance, mime, and circus arts. Lillian Walker’s camera carefully captures these scenes playing out in locations across the greater Chicago area. These sites range from the quotidian to the striking; including an abandoned Victorian church, the shores of Lake Michigan, and the residential environs of the city’s North Side.
