Saint Sister—the Dublin-based duo of songwriter Morgana MacIntyre and harpist/arranger Gemma Doherty—today shared their new song “Oh My God Oh Canada,” the fourth single from their upcoming sophomore album, Where I Should End, out June 25th, 2021. Written as they were touring their 2018 debut Shape of Silence in North America, the song paints a clear picture of the care that goes into maintaining relationships when you’re living out of a suitcase. “‘Oh My God Oh Canada’ is about the intricacies within your most cherished and complicated relationships. It’s about not knowing where the line is, finding yourself on the wrong side of it and spending months trying to find your way back to the right place,” explains MacIntyre. “It’s about saying too much and at the same time, nothing at all, giving too much of yourself in one moment but not showing up when you’re needed most. I wrote it about wanting to be a better friend, but knowing I never would be.”

GOLDEN

In a nutshell, my new single, “Golden” featuring Thieves Like Us, is about self (emotional) care. This crazy ass time we find ourselves living in has really given us space to think about all our fortunes and misfortunes.

IMAGINE DRAGONS UNVEIL “CUTTHROAT” MUSIC VIDEO STARRING OLIVIA MUNN

Directed by Matt Eastin and also featuring actor Adrian Martinez, the video sees Munn at the DMV. Finding herself in a constantly increasing state of agitation, the video is a parallel visual of the song’s thunderous and frenetic sonic build. The video made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU and on the ViacomCBS Times Square billboard.

Shad releases new track “Out Of Touch”

Shad shares his take about the video: “I wanted to make something energetic for this song that ideally also reflected the idea of fragmentation that’s central to the lyrics and the choppy (fragmented) style of the beat too. Justin, as he always does, captured something honest that reminded me of the simple joy of music and performance.” Director Justin Broadbent had this to say about his creative process: “This video concept was born out of the unique sound of the track. I wanted to make something fragmented, alive, honest and colourful. Almost every background shot in the video came out of spontaneous moments while wandering the city. In the foreground, Shad’s performance is an energetic, classic, lo-fi performance video.”

Heavy Crossover Stars SUMO CYCO Drop Eclectic, Timely New Single “Bad News”

Frontwoman Skye “Sever” Sweetnam says about “Bad News”:
“I’m sure many people can relate to feeling like everyday is ‘Bad News’ over and over again. There was a point in 2020 when I was so glued to the news and current events it felt like my personal identity was fading away into an abyss and replaced with a scrolling, media consuming robot. It made me miserable, but I felt like I had a responsibility to know what was going on. It took me a while to peel myself away from the constant barrage of negativity and find a balance.”

MODEST MOUSE RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM THE GOLDEN CASKET OUT JUNE 25TH ON EPIC RECORDS

The GRAMMY® Award-nominated multi platinum band has shared the first single off the release, the anthemic “We Are Between,” a song driven by Brock’s trademark vocals vacillating between sonic isolation and the support of a full chorus, with lyrics alternating between “the best” and “the worst” parts, determining that “we are somewhere between the dust and the stars.”

Lydia Ainsworth shares new single “Cosmic Dust” from forthcoming album Sparkles & Debris – out 5/21

Written and produced by Ainsworth in Toronto, New York and Los Angeles over many years, Sparkles & Debris reflects her usual composer’s mindset and instinct for idiosyncratic melodies and structures. The album also marks a departure from the more solitary creative process that her previous releases were born from. Ainsworth recorded all her vocals at her engineer/mixer Dajaun Martineau’s studio in Toronto. Mark Kelso provided live drums and Neil Chapman and John Findlay added electric guitar and bass in the city’s Desert Fish and Noble St. studios. These live elements blend with Ainsworth’s own samples, programming and voice to create the record’s sonic tapestry.

Baba Ali | Shares single and announces debut album (recorded with Al Doyle of Hot Chip / LCD Soundsystem)

Baba Ali is now London-based but initially hails from Fort Lee, New Jersey. The record comes informed by the sounds of adolescence, absorbing No Wave and the hip hop on NYC’s Hot 97, his time immersed in the techno scene in Berlin, and the experimental punk spirit of his current base in East London whilst also tracing his Nigerian heritage. Baba Ali found tips in the UK previously from the likes of DIY, The Line of Best Fit and BBC Radio for his EP, This House which was released on Danger Mouse’s label and produced by Jamie Hince of The Kills. “Black Wagon” levels up on all of those early promises though cutting this spiky electronica with fuzzy guitar; it’s quite a cool segue, I think, which definitely shows traces of Doyle’s influence on the music.

RESULTS OF ADULTS SHARE TRIPPY NEW VIDEO “MAN MEETS MACHINE” FROM THEIR UPCOMING LP

Throughout the history of collective human culture, we have continually searched for a connective meaning between the instinctual collision of sound and color. For some, this connection is purely metaphorical, and for others, it is an unavoidable and innate sensory experience. For Tym Cornell, the predominant songwriter and founding member of Results of Adults, it is unmistakably both. Growing up immersed in the lush, overgrown landscapes of rural Alabama, from the moment he remembers opening his eyes, Cornell’s life has been guided by an uncannily synesthetic path.

Water From Your Eyes sign to Wharf Cat for Structure LP/share “”Quotations””

There’s no perfect way to describe Water From Your Eyes, the New York duo composed of Nate Amos (he/him) and Rachel Brown (they/them). Both known independently for their solo work under the names This Is Lorelei and Thanks For Coming respectively, the pair have been together since 2016, and in that time they have developed a clear-eyed approach to forward-thinking dance music that combines austerity and satire, abrasion and charm in a package that is consistently innovative and unlike anything being made by their contemporaries in the Brooklyn DIY scene or outside of it. After a series of smaller releases the band made their mark in 2019 with the release of Somebody Else’s Song, which earned praise from outlets like Stereogum, FLOOD, GoldFlakePaint and Pitchfork who declared that “wading through Water From Your Eyes’ whims is a delight in itself, and discovering the unexpected loveliness buried within is especially worthwhile.” Today, the band are announcing their signing to the beloved Brooklyn indie Wharf Cat Records (Palberta, Gong Gong Gong, Dougie Poole) for their latest LP Structure (out August 27th), and sharing the first single from the LP, the hypnotic “”Quotations.””

New Today – “A Little Cruel” from Parks N’ Rec (Supergarage)

Now, DiFelice is collaborating with producers at Self Titled Studios to write songs against the backdrop of his own life in Parks N’ Rec, covering topics of lost love, polarizing societies, and self-renewal.

OPHIDIAN I Unveils New Album Details, Shares First Single

OPHIDIAN I comments, “With ‘Desolate,’ we set out to create a very technical album but with a strong emphasis on harmony and songwriting. With ‘Diamonds’ being written late in the process and at a point where we had become comfortable with the direction and sound of the band; it came together very quickly and truly embodied the spirit of what we’d been going for. We spoke to Guilherme about making a video for this song and he was quick to get on board with the concepts we brought to him. The end result came out fantastic and we are ecstatic to bring you ‘Diamonds.'”

SONIC BLAST – “Queen Isis” from upcoming album “Humanity Divided”
