ICYMI: The Marías Share “Hush” –First Single Off Upcoming Debut Album CINEMA

“The Marías were born from cinema,” says María. “The reason Josh and I started writing music together was because of cinema. Through a friend, we were connected to a music supervisor who would send us requests for music for films. We’d receive a synopsis of a scene, and then we’d have to write music to it within a couple of days. Not only did that teach us how to write songs together fairly quickly, it taught us how to think like filmmakers. We’d imagine worlds in our minds based on the synopses – the colors in the scene, the lighting, the actors, the set design, and of course, the music.”

Artist: Jasen Coley – Track: Stay Awake

This song means a lot to me. It was the first song I wrote. It’s a song about someone losing the love of there life and wanting them to stay awake for just a little longer before they pass away. With the help of some very talented musicians and a local producer it came together very well. I plan to promote this song and to touch peoples hearts in a meaningful way. 2020 was a very hard year with many losses including someone close to me and a song like this will hopefully resonate with people.

John Hiatt with The Jerry Douglas Band to Release “Leftover Feelings” May 31st – Relix Magazine Premieres “I’m In Asheville” Video Today

John Hiatt with The Jerry Douglas Band will release Leftover Feelings on May 21st via New West Records. The 11-song set was produced by Jerry Douglas and recorded at Historic RCA Studio B in Nashville, Tenn. A meeting of two American music giants in a legendary setting, Leftover Feelings is neither a bluegrass album nor a return to Hiatt’s 1980s days with slide guitar greats Ry Cooder and Sonny Landreth. There’s no drummer, yet these grooves are deep and true. And while the up-tempo songs are, as ever, filled with delightful internal rhyme and sly aggression, The Jerry Douglas Band’s empathetic musicianship nudges Hiatt to performances that are startlingly vulnerable.
