Nick Leng Shares “One More Time” Video via Flaunt

Sometimes, you have to explore the most painful moments of your life to release your most inspiring contemplations about it. For musician Nick Leng, this came after an emotional breakup, apartment fire and subsequent loss of a friend, which led him on a journey through wistfulness, isolation, and ultimately a renewal of spirit. His diligence paid off with the release of his powerful debut LP, LEMONS in April 2020 on SOTA Records. An album precise even in its idiosyncrasies featuring a heady mix of throwback dream-pop, classically routed, singer-songwriter introspection, and beat-driven whimsy.

Daniel Davies (John Carpenter) Announces New EP ‘Spies’

As he did for his 2020 full-length Signals, Davies teamed up with acclaimed visual artist Jesse Draxler (Daughters, Poppy) for the artwork. The stark, black-and-white piece that Draxler contributed for the cover of Spies perfectly captures the mood of the record. Eyes are cut out, disassociated from faces, their gazes made inscrutable. The artwork and music share a similar effect, akin to the tingle one gets on the back of their neck when they sense they’re under surveillance — a feeling some psychologists have dubbed the “psychic staring effect.”

DEVORA Shares New Track “Body Bag”

Speaking on the track DEVORA comments: “This song is a front row seat to watching me lose my mind. I snapped after going through some messed up situations and as always, I let my frustrations and anger take shape in song form. This song is my visceral reaction to some crazy shit that went down and writing it was as cathartic as it was liberating. There’s something so beautiful and poignant about not mincing words and just outright saying “I am enraged. I want to put you in a body bag. That is all”. Sometimes there’s really no other words or poetry to describe what you’re feeling and this was one of those instances. This song evokes an ironclad shade of fearlessness that can’t be fucked with. Its raw, its real, It’s untouchable.”

Metal Frontrunners TETRARCH Reveal Chilling New Single “Addicted”

Frontman and guitarist Josh Fore says:
“‘Addicted’ is a song about being consumed by something in life that to the outside eye may appear detrimental or dangerous. Even as our world may be spiraling away from us into chaos there’s something that draws us towards our obsessions. ‘Now I can see that the joke is on me’ is that moment of self-awareness: that we cannot escape who we are and that we are stuck in our own addictions.”

Jessie Ware Releases New Single “Please;” What’s Your Pleasure? The Platinum Pleasure Edition Out June 11

Her newest track, “Please” sees Jessie continue the energy of What’s Your Pleasure? in the form of a throwback to 70s and 80s dance music, and pulls it together in a wonderfully anachronistic style, all packaged with Ware’s outstanding vocals. The track fits perfectly into What’s Your Pleasure? – The Platinum Pleasure Edition, Ware’s deluxe offering of her sensational 2020 record. This edition still bears the cohesive, complementary songwriting, the killer grooves and flawless production of the original version. The Platinum Pleasure Edition only serves to heighten the rich and powerful soul of last year’s release with tracks like “Please,” “0208” featuring synthpop visionary Kindness, the Endless Remix of “Adore You” and a whole host more.

[PRESS] Honey (Turning Point/Godspeed) New Single

Originally, Honey wasn’t conceived as a full band project. It was more of a solo project to serve as “therapy” for singer / guitarist, Jay Laughlin (Turning Point, Godspeed). As Jay puts it, “I’ve been playing in bands non-stop since the 8th grade (1986). In 2017, I had a couple of back-to-back shitty situations which put me into a seriously dark depression. I thought maybe it was time to take a step back from playing in a band and book some studio time to make a record for myself… by myself.” These sessions would take Laughlin back to his roots — the heavy metal and hardcore music that first caught his ear and possessed him to pick up a guitar and write songs in the first place.

CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX Announces New EP, Reveals First Single

“The first thing we’re doing after ‘Ellengæst’ is a special single. A cover version of the classic SNFU song ‘Painful Reminder.’ And it features new vocalist/lyricist Joel Segerstedt. He joins the band to be the male voice and the contrast to Belinda Kordic in the female/male dynamic which is now an integral part of the CBP sound. Being a Stockholm resident, it seems all the more serendipitous that we find each other. And after hearing his vocal talent in his other band The Open Up And Bleeds, we knew Joel could be the missing piece of the jigsaw.

In it, I compare the girl to one of my favorite flowers, a cherry blossom, because they’re rare and beautiful,” explains Indii. Each individual Cherry Blossom tree can hold its blossoms for about a week depending on weather conditions, making their extraordinary beauty a sight to behold. “The Cherry Blossom video is probably my favorite yet,” adds Indii. “Nick and Pat, the directors, did a great job building sets that portray the fantasy-like feeling of the song with an abundance of cherry blossoms to match. I think of this theme song as the ultimate spy-conspiracy soundtrack to a movie that doesn’t exist. It captures the feeling of anxiety and displacement that can come from feeling outside of society.
