The Pioneers Of Outsider Art Rock TODD RUNDGREN & SPARKS Reunite For New Recording
It’s a music hipster’s dream come true, a pairing that will make legions of fans weak at the knees. A recorded collaboration between the ever-innovating producer, songwriter and Rock Hall Of Fame nominee Todd Rundgren and one of the most eclectic, quixotic and highly celebrated musical acts in modern music, Sparks! Not since Sparks’ Rundgren-produced 1971 debut album have these two titanically talented acts worked so closely together.
And now Rundgren and Sparks are proud to release “Your Fandango,” the third single from Rundgren’s forthcoming Space Force album, which also features collaborations with Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo and hip hop artist Narcy, and the timing couldn’t be better. Rundgren just recently completed a highly publicized and hugely successful virtual tour, the “Clearly Human” Tour, while Ron and Russell Mael have been generating their own buzz ahead of the Cannes premiere of the Sparks-penned movie musical ‘Annette’ (starring Adam Driver & Marion Cotillard) and the full-length, Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Baby Driver) directed documentary ‘The Sparks Brothers’ about their career. In fact, it was the filming of Rundgren’s interview for the latter that reunited him with Sparks and formed the idea of a collaboration.
GONE IN APRIL – Feat. TESTAMENT Bassist STEVE DI GIORGIO – Premiere Official Video “Haven”, Filmed at The Great Saltpetre Cave
“Before recording our album ‘Shards of Light’, says singer-violinist Julie Bélanger Roy, “we scouted many locations for our music videos. We wrote the lyrics of some of our songs specifically with the chosen locations in mind, framing our stories around these environments. We heard about the Great Saltpetre Cave from a friend whose father used to offer oil lamp guided tours of the cave. After a warm welcome from the members of the preserve who kindly allowed us to film in the cave, we were absolutely amazed by the monumental size of the main room, a stunning 165′ long x 65′ wide x 50′ high, enough to comfortably sit 1500 people. A few spins of the imagination, and we write a song about a fast-spreading virus, the need for a safe haven for a large body of people while they wait for the virus to die off, a few years spent underground, and a new world when everybody emerges from the cave. Little did we know what was coming our way when we recorded this song. As we finally start to see the end of this worldwide crisis, we feel that the time has come to release Haven, and hopefully find our version of a new world.

Artist: Karen Alice Dunbar – Track: Almost
“In Her Shoes”, is her 2nd single of 2020. It’s an upbeat Pop/Rock/Country track inspired by early noughties Sheryl Crowe, released 5th November 2020. It’s a song I wrote in 2017 around the thought that no one else really & truly knows what it’s like to walk in another person’s shoes. We don’t know what’s going on with our friends/family/colleagues under the surface, or how they’re really feeling. All we can do is try our best just to be there, show our support & be kind, always.

DEAD SLOW HOOT SHARE LATEST SINGLE ‘GESTICULATING WILDLY’
Sheffield / London based band Dead Slow Hoot are certainly keeping everyone on their toes this year as they tease us with another release from their forthcoming EP with new single ‘Gesticulating Wildly’. This latest installment from their EP ‘A Kinder Kind’ sees the band head down a more mellow road as they get honest about putting on a permanent positive face to the world. The track presents a different side to Dead Slow Hoot, drawing influence from neo-psychedelia and experimenting with texture and counter harmony. It contains a unique craftsmanship as they abandon a conventional verse-chorus-verse song structure, opting instead to explore two distinct musical ideas, combining hazy guitars with orchestral strings and even learning the flute to add a woodwind section. The song is tied together by introspective lyrics that juxtapose themes of growth with a sense of willful destruction, which is reflected in the music itself as it transitions between the two sections.

Kristian North (ffo Roxy Music, Sparks) | Shares new single, album out Friday
This latest cut, which comes with a visual directed by Jordan Minkoff, arrives as one of the few almost love songs on the record, presenting this glowing sense of optimism underlined with horns and joyous piano. “It’s romance, it’s realism. Just as close as I can. Ya dig?” Says North of the new single. “I wrote it in Portugal at the end of this tour in Europe last year, so I hear castles all over the thing. Even troubadours are singing. This song sounds so warm to me like we’re sitting in Renny’s living room in the wintertime (it’s freezing in there though).”

Watch Esther Rose Steal A Car In Slow Motion In “Good Time” Music Video
Strutting into frame at half-speed in a leather jacket and wind in her hair, Esther Rose physically embodies the breezy feeling of the song she’s singing in her new video for “Good Time.” The third single from her recently-released How Many Times, “Good Time” is about, in Rose’s words, “embracing recklessness and laughing at myself while at the same time being damn scared because it felt like my life was blowing up all around me,” and throughout the video, there’s a little bit of all of that.
