Since the launch of the label, the L.A transplant by way of Canada has made his presence felt every step of the way. His recent stints “I See U” and “Addicted” have showcased his brooding and dark sound, and he’s going the deeper route on his subsequent single “Everytime.” The slow-burning jam is a beguiling house track that finds him employing the use of his own vocals in tandem with a seductive groove.

For Skope: Nicky Romero & Teamworx release new progressive gem “World Through Your Eyes”
Nicky Romero and Protocol veterans Teamworx join forces for another progressive gem in the form of “World Through Your Eyes,” featuring German singer/songwriter Joseph Feinstein. A delicate instrumental melody carries soulful vocals in the track’s intro, which steadily builds to swelling synths, but where one might expect a big-room style drop, Romero and Teamworx instead take the track in a deep and groovy direction. “World Through Your Eyes” both gives the nod to classic progressive house and a modern take on dance music today, following in the steps of Romero’s recent release “You Used To,” which was acclaimed by industry tastemakers and featured on Spotify’s “mint” playlist. “World Through Your Eyes” is the fourth collaboration between Nicky and longtime Protocol artists Teamworx, after earlier “Techno,” “Deep Dark Jungle,” and “Champion Sound.”

for Skope: R3HAB, Luis Fonsi, Sean Paul team up on future summer anthem “Pues” (out now)
“It’s always a pleasure to work with industry legends such as Luis Fonsi and Sean Paul. They are both experts of their craft, and together we came up with a reggaeton-dance record perfect for warm summer nights. I’ve been having a great time making music with artists across the Latin world, like TINI, Reik, Rauw Alejandro, Hungria, and MC Jacare. I’m inspired by the diversity of music cultures within Latin music, and have many more to explore. “Pues” is different from everything I’ve released so far, and I’m glad to give it over to our fans now. I hope you love it as much as I do.” – R3HAB
Regarding “Tie Mao to Mined,” per Luke: “Originally surfacing as a B-side to my first single “Miss Me” – which sold out of its run of 50 cassettes – this song has traveled a long ways and continues to morph in a variety of ways. but the theme remains: it’s a mind you can trick into confinement, consignment, or alignment.”
Americana/Rock Group The FBR Bring Awareness to Addiction in Captivating New Single Premiered via American Songwriter
Based on true events, Tim Hunter’s “Before I Drown” paints the unfortunate yet soul-stirring and honest reality of someone living through the grips of addiction, drawing listeners in with haunting vocals and brooding atmosphere. Due to its vulnerable subject matter, it took nearly five years before the pair felt it was time for the piece to see the light of day. Their passion for crafting songs about the complexities of the human condition is apparent on the release. The FBR have hopes of the single reaching those who feel isolated during a dark time, as well as destigmatizing mental health and the misconceptions that addicts face. “The topic of addiction is so taboo in this country. It stems from something. The opposite of addiction is not sobriety, it’s connection. [We] want people to hear this song and know that they are heard, felt, seen, and loved,” states the band.

Sweet Imperfections ignites enveloping passion in captivating new music video
SoCal-via-Medford singer songwriter Bri Schillings and her band Sweet Imperfections share their latest single, “Deeper To The Core”, a moving pop ballad advocating for self-examination. By unlocking a deeper connection within oneself, it will allow one to make more meaningful connections with others.
The music video, set in a barren desert during twilight hours, conjures up a liberating image – wind and fire are visual indicators symbolizing an unwavering sense of freedom and passion evoked in the song’s lyrics (“Deep in the core there is a fire and burns away the stories we wear / When you feel the flame it sets you free and you rise up, passionately”)

Lissie shares “Hey Boy”; an empowering response to the sexism she faced as a young musician
Lissie shares the previously unreleased song, “Hey Boy,” which was written several years before her breakthrough debut album, Catching A Tiger, came out in 2010. The song is a raw and rootsy folk-rocker in which Lissie’s bluesy vocals fire a scathing criticism at the sexism and misogyny that she faced as a young female artist who was trying to make her mark on the music scene. It comes from her soon-to-be-released collection, Watch Over Me (Early Works 2002-2009), which compiles nine highlights from her formative years as a songwriter. It’s being released via Cooking Vinyl on July 23. With touring currently off the schedule, Lissie has spent recent months delving into her archives to uncover a wealth of material that has helped shape her into the artist that she is today. Besides Watch Over Me (Early Works 2002-2009), she will also be self-releasing the “Anniversary Edition” of Catching A Tiger on June 25. Both albums are available for pre-order now.

AJ McLean (BSB) & Variety Premiere Video For Incredible New Pop Single “Love Song Love”!
Of the single AJ says, “These new songs are like coming home to myself, it’s second nature to express myself through pop, R&B, soul & funk. This new vibe of music I’m making isn’t new to me, I’m just finally accepting the person I am today. I hope it does the same for my fans, and now more than ever, my trans and non-binary fans whose rights and very existence are being attacked in politics and in the streets. What’s happening is unacceptable, I’m an ally, and this song, to me, screams love no matter what and is all about loving and respecting one another. With this release, and moving forward, I intend to use my platform across the board to offer the trans community an additional way to use their voice, and I hope to help continue the discussion that gets us closer to equality for everyone.”

Indie-pop-folk band, BANDITS ON THE RUN, premiere new single ahead of EP release
The deeply personal song sees multi-instrumentalist, Regina Strayhorn, stepping to the forefront. “The song is about ghosting, rejection, and the confusing chaos that often comes when a romance goes sideways. When I first came to my bandmates [Adrian Blake Enscoe and Sydney Shepherd] with a draft of it, the song felt so vulnerable that it was almost too embarrassing to sing. But they responded to its heartbreak, and so did the audiences we played it for. I’ve found that everyone’s had their turn being the fool at one point or another,” Strayhorn says. “For me, the song is a far greater gift than the fantasy relationship I might’ve had with this mystery man. Honestly, I thank him, because ‘Spellbound’ has healed my heart and connected Bandits on the Run to so many beautiful people.”
BRYNN CARTELLI UNVEILS OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “LONG WAY HOME”
About the song, she commented, “Long Way Home is the first story I wanted to share off of my next project. I will never forget the day I wrote it with Nathan Chapman in Nashville, going around the studio and using random items as percussion. What started as a slow, weirdly depressing idea on piano (as almost all of my songs do) became a super fun pop record. Each lyric to me is a wink at the rush of young love in a small town. Getting lost on streets with no names, letting yellow lights turn red, purposely taking the Long Way Home, I’ll do anything to push the limits of my curfew. Long Way Home is the beginning of a story revealing who I am as a singer and songwriter.”

As a lover of film himself, Rittling creates striking accompanying visuals that dissect the most potent aspects of what a moving image can do; in its simplest form, film sows you a moment unwoven and expanded, from a single but shared perspective.
