Commenting on the track, front man Jack Rogers said: “I wrote this song at a point in my life where I felt like I had no control of my ‘future’ I was making countless self destructive mistakes, lying to myself and everyone close to me and I could see myself turning into someone I really did not want to be. Hello Trouble is a love letter and apology to everyone I have ever hurt, including myself. I finally feel like I am getting better and each day is a day where I am more proud to be myself, But getting caught up in your own head and anxieties is an easy trap to fall into. I hope anyone struggling listens to this and feels less alone!”

LAURA MVULA SHARES VIDEO FOR “CHURCH GIRL”
Speaking about ‘Church Girl’ Laura said “I am not my story. For so long I identified as the things that happen in my life, the things I do, good or bad. I’m letting go of this mind-made ‘me’. I’m coming home to myself beyond the realm of form. I am not the thoughts in my head, or the things I achieve, or the shape of my haircut. I no longer ‘dance with the devil’ on my back. I’m basking in the light of knowing my true self, the deeper ‘I’.”

THE LONELY HARPS CLUB: “Dilettante” Single & Animated Video Out!
“Dilettante is a song about enjoying life and having fun with your friends, especially when you don’t fit into the narrow boxes dictated by society. It’s a humorous love letter to the wonderful group of international, artsy friends I had when I lived in Tokyo. Dilettante is an upbeat and catchy song, but quite poignant right now because we haven’t been able to socialise freely in over a year thanks to the pandemic. I think it’s appropriate that it is being released just as restrictions start to lift in my current home, the UK. The video is created by an up and coming artist and a very good friend of mine: Isabel Galwey of the Greenwood Studio. I feel the animation finishes my thoughts and captures the lighthearted, creative, and adventurous spirit of the song.”

Ashley Monroe Releases Official Video For New Single “Groove”
“This one is the one I could listen to over and over,” explains Monroe. “When Aaron Raitiere, Mikey Reaves and I wrote this, we knew it was cool. But I was hell bent on getting so many grooves in there that it was almost like a duet with me and the instruments. I had Chris Powell, Brian Allen and Zach Casebolt come in to give it so much groove, that no one could resist moving when they heard it. They slayed! I wrote this to all who like how they groove, and a tad to Nashville in the second verse. It is the ‘don’t act like you don’t see me vibes.'”

With thumping drums courtesy of Jay’s frequent collaborator ENRGY, “Drunk When I Made This” finds an inebriated Jay rattling off a succession of stream-of-consciousness witticisms about his favorite topic: “You can only have me for one day like a white tee, girl/B*tch, I’m tired of going back and forth like hockey, girl/B*tch just do it for a check, she a nice girl/B*tch knew I was gonna cheat before I did, she a psychic girl.” The 22-year-old artist alternates rhymes with the expressive ad-libs that made songs like “Triple S” viral hits on TikTok and beyond. “Drunk When I Made This” is Jay’s second new song in less than seven days, following the off-kilter video single “Yeessiirrrr,” which has over 120k YouTube views since it dropped last weekend.

Bring Backs marks Alfa’s first release for the label ANTI- and is also the most detailed exploration of his upbringing in musical form. Siniestro, new video
Panamanian singer/songwriter Sofía Valdés shares a Spanish version of “Amsterdam” from her debut EP, Ventura released in February of this year. The single details the pain of wanting to be with someone when they’ve since moved on to be with someone else. Sofia’s music offers a unique quality of being relatable to anyone who has experienced heartbreak while avoiding cliche. The song begins and ends with a scratched sample of a Spanish poem, “El Mar” by Jorge Luis Borges. This paired with the kinetic hand percussion, inspired by sounds she heard growing up in Panama, beautifully displays Valdés’ musical talent.
Developing a reputation for saying what’s on her mind (and everybody else’s) out loud, she turns up with another confessionally catchy anthem. Success is a marathon, not a sprint. Bino Rideaux remembers a time when his dream seemed impossible. “I wanted to prove everybody wrong, when nobody believed.” At 27, the Los Angeles rapper is a case study in the hustle, grinding on his own and acquiring cosigns from some of the biggest names on his coast.
DODIE SHARES NEW SINGLE & VIDEO; DEBUT ALBUM OUT MAY 7
dodie today shares her searing new single “I Kissed Someone (It Wasn’t You),” the latest track to be lifted from her forthcoming debut album Build A Problem which is now due for release 7 May via her label doddleoddle. The new single follows “Hate Myself”, which premiered as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World and was playlisted at Radio 1. “‘I Kissed Someone (It Wasn’t You)’ is set in the aftermath of a newly-single person’s messy night out,” explains dodie. “It’s the feeling of trying to patch over a broken, lonely heart by indulging in a revenge fantasy of promiscuity – sadly only resulting in feeling lost, lonelier and shameful. I wrote the song to take place in a drunken, dark mindset – teetering on the edge of sinking deep into the bad thoughts that alcohol can amplify, before snapping back in the verses to a slightly more grounded, but still sad, place.”
