Watch John Moods’ 90’s NYC rom-com inspired video for “Talk To Me”
In this video I get to live out what I refer to as my “suit guy fantasy”. A young, unapologetic venture capitalist, a yuppie, the hero of 1990s romantic comedies, paces with fast steps through the streets of lower Manhattan while the coffee is steaming, the pretzels are hot and smoke is wafting out of the sewers as a reminder of what’s hidden beneath the hypernormalized world of finance.
At the end of the video the protagonist reaches the office where he works all alone in a dead and decaying building still unaware or unable to see what’s really surrounding him. The video takes place in a sort of fantasy version of 90s New York, with parts obviously shot in modern day, not in New York. It reflects the time that’s gone by since the found footage was filmed, and the strangeness of being so far from America but at the same time very heavily influenced by its culture, belief systems and dreams.

John Hiatt with The Jerry Douglas Band To Release “Leftover Feelings” May 21
John Hiatt with The Jerry Douglas Band will release Leftover Feelings on May 21st via New West Records. The 11-song set was produced by Jerry Douglas and recorded at Historic RCA Studio B in Nashville, Tenn. A meeting of two American music giants in a legendary setting, Leftover Feelings is neither a bluegrass album nor a return to Hiatt’s 1980s days with slide guitar greats Ry Cooder and Sonny Landreth. There’s no drummer, yet these grooves are deep and true. And while the up-tempo songs are, as ever, filled with delightful internal rhyme and sly aggression, The Jerry Douglas Band’s empathetic musicianship nudges Hiatt to performances that are startlingly vulnerable.

Rhymefest Featured in Skypp’s New Music Video For “Fix Yo’ Crown”
“We live in a time where people are realizing their worth. Ownership, confidence, self-love and wealth are in abundance. It’s a beautiful thing. But like the lyrics say, “with power comes corruption.” For every step up, there’s a force trying to make you go backwards. This song is for the people who face those battles daily. You’re a target because you’re a threat. Stay focused and never let them get the best of you. Pick your head up and Fix Yo’ Crown.”

HANNES GROSSMANN Releases Music Video for New Single “The Sun Eaters” – Premiering via Metal Injection
“I am beyond thrilled to present the first song off my new album. It took a lot of work writing, recording and mixing it, but the effort paid off eventually. As a solo artist I aim to create fresh ideas which at the same time carry the spirit of a sound I started with Obscura back in 2009. But the most important thing for me is having fun with it. On this song and also on the rest of the album, I had some help from my very talented Alkaloid bandmates. It’s mind-boggling how Danny Tunker (Alkaloid guitarist) recreated the guitar solo I wrote almost note-by-note without even a sweat.”

This song is that for me. I’m ready for the world to hear this song, it’s a new era for DVDDY and a new era for me as a person. This song blends rock with electronic in a unique way that hasn’t really been done before, and we are beyond grateful to have had the support of heavy hitters like Kellin Quinn, Excision, and Illenium.”

Despite the unchecked anger found on the single and throughout the album, the band says, “Believe it or not, Your Crucifixion might be the most optimistic, uplifting song on our LP.”
DEVORA Shares “Not Dead Yet (Live From Bowery Electric)” || New Music Coming Soon
Filmed and recorded amidst the complete halt of the live music industry due to COVID, the experience proved cathartic and reinvigorating. DEVORA comments: “Playing live at the Bowery Electric in NYC this fall was as exhilarating as it was inspiring. While filming this livestream, even with just a few people in the venue due to covid restrictions, the energy was undoubtedly infectious. Performing live is mind/body therapy for me and after a year long hiatus due to quarantine, all of those emotions associated with live music came rushing back at full force. I was reminded just how much live performance is an essential part of my life, and became even more excited getting just a small taste of what’s on the horizon for live music once it returns…”

SINGER-SONGWRITER JANET SIMPSON SHARES HER NEW MUSIC VIDEO “SLIP”
Safe Distance – the new album from singer, songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, Janet Simpson, isn’t a concept record, but it does take a journey. From Nashville to Reno (well, almost), to running away from demons, retreating from your troubles, hiding in plain sight, and returning liberated – ready to skip away again while your past looks on with a dropped jaw. But nothing here rambles aimlessly: Simpson’s characters long to get free (and succeed) while navigating it all with confident purpose. They are reflective but never middling. They hurt but move to healing – or take the time to care for others. And they don’t shy away for a good time – even if they’re having too much of one.

We try to stay on that vibe all year round.” Set to be this season’s jam “Waiting for Summer” sweeps the listener away into summer bliss as Adoo sings, “Summer forever //Palm trees all day //sunrays no shade //Lemonade homemade //Highway unpaved //Renegades, eyes glazed…”
