Award-winning Bluegrass artist Rick Faris has released the lead-off single from his forthcoming album, “Deep River.” Written by Faris and Mark “Brink” Brinkman and produced by Stephen Mougin of Dark Shadow Recording, “Deep River” marks the first release since Faris announced his departure from Special Consensus. Faris is currently wrapping up production on his sophomore album The Next Mountain due out this summer.

“I wanted to write an empowerment song that was fun and full of attitude – one of those tracks that psych you up when you’re getting ready in the morning or going to the gym,” Nick explains. “Growing up on the east coast south of DC, I wanted to channel that hip-hop aggression in this song. I had recently gotten back home from visiting Nashville for Tin Pan South 2018 and did a Skype co-write with Jessica Fodor, who I met at the seminar. We had such a blast writing it and we wrote two more songs together that will be on the new album. I’ve been wanting to record it and release it for a long time and I’m so excited to share this with everyone!”

Arham is a 25-year-old musician based in Oslo, Norway. The Norwegian-Pakistani musician grew up on Metallica’s ‘Master of Puppets,’ as well as Pakistani music, making for interesting formative roots.
Arham says the following about the track:
“I like ethereal psychedelic vibes, and that’s what came out in this song. I wrote, played, produced, and mixed this all by myself. I’ve been producing for a while before making this song, mostly for other people. At one point I just let myself flow freely and this is what happened. I just wish people would try things differently sometimes. So yeah. just try the other way.”
