The 13-track record is a vibrant, defiant personal statement, a thorough excursion into the annals of Black music: past, present and future. Rich in throwback soul, stunning piano balladry, and swaggering psychedelic funk, the self-produced Baby, I’m Hollywood finds Hill liberated, focused and reborn. Guitar Legend Steve Cropper Releases Title Track, “Fire It Up”
Guitar and Stax legend Steve Cropper has just released “Fire It Up,” the title track from his new album, out April 23rd. Calling it his first proper solo album since 1969, Cropper explains, “This album is different from everything out there now – I haven’t heard myself this way since the 60s.” “Fire It Up” features vocals by Roger C. Reale, who commented, “Back when I initially heard the track, it had a jump up feel – get started, get moving, look forward to a better day, grab the moment. The title came immediately, so I just dropped the narrative around that. It’s a bit of a call to action – let’s get busy, on any level.”

Music became his life, but also a profession barely valued in his country, not to mention the lack of investment and support for his project as an emerging artist. His dreams were also affected by the political, economic and social situation, which gave him no choice but to emigrate to Canada in 2015.
