“‘Deadman’ is a song about the struggles of the working class and the tools the 1% use to influence our decision making and priorities and liberating ourselves from that,” Levi says. “I think the themes are even more relevant today, given our dependence and blind trust in technology, which we are dependent on for our everyday activities and our primary source of information. As a society, we are as divided now as ever before, even with technology and social media being marketed as tools that bring us closer together. This song is about rebelling against all masters, gurus and self-proclaimed distributors of truth to learning to trust our own intuition and judgement. It’s also an extremely fun and heavy song and we wanted to do something different and special with the visuals.”

NIGHTSHADOW Streaming New Single “Ripper” Off Upcoming Album “Strike Them Dead” Out May 7th
Nightshadow returns in 2021 to offer up a slab of infectious strong-hearted power-punching metal from their forthcoming full-length “Strike Them Dead” to follow their 2017 self-titled debut EP. The album is due out May 7th and in lead up to its release, the band is sharing their first single “Ripper”. The track is a story from the point of view of the malice mind of Jack The Ripper. “Day 1 Starter (feat. Remble)” is an athletic track: Remble grapples with the beat like a wrestler, Dev floats over it like a boxer on his toes. And when they trade bars, it’s an all-out brawl. “He talkin’ too loud, I let my 40 bark him,” Dev sneers. Remble fires back, “You wanna fade, my chopper Ronda Rousey.” Dev uses bobs and weaves through his trademark basketball references, lending the track that fun, head-spinning energy that informs all of his most infectious songs. In the video, directed by Nick Medina, Dev and Remble hang on a quiet block, demonstrating their cool chemistry and quiet confidence as they play dice and flex.

“Emergency Room is one of the heavier tracks off the EP also being the opening track to kick things off with a punch. Written about a night out which ended with Jax landing in hospital needing stitches in his face, then heading to Perth the next day to play a sold out show with Ruby Fields, it was our biggest show to date at the time.” Pretty Uglys

Says vocalist Jamie Stewart, “Haven’t we all been Coffinized since last year? Cooped-up, masked, distanced, trapped within a formless bubble, longing for a collective exhale. We lost our abilities to release and to connect with all of our friends and family. We miss the spark; we miss the conversations; and most of all, we miss each and every one of you.

Austin’s Lady Dan (ffo: Mattiel, Julia Jacklin, Katy Kirby) | Shares new single – album out April 23
As a full piece, I Am the Prophet dives into some deeply personal content for Dozier, in a sense tackling lots of the pressure and symbols of authority that she has come up against in her life. Initially hailing from Dothan, Alabama, Tyler grew up in a strictly religious environment, moving to Birmingham, Alabama in her teens to attend a ministry school which was when she began to question the role of the Church in her life. It was an amalgamation of the Church and a controlling relationship that birthed the crux of I Am the Prophet – a celebration of sorts about ridding the patriarchal restraints that refused her growth, as well as being a frustrated kick at those who’ve always said she couldn’t in life. Each track poses a new narrative, arriving as multilayered existential quandaries of empowerment and restriction, of life and death, or of faith and its absence.
