Carper’s refreshingly unique style calls to mind greats like Kitty Wells, Billie Holiday, and Loretta Lynn, beautifully conveyed in the grooves of the album’s 12 sparkling gems. Carper enlisted fellow bassist Dennis Crouch (The Time Jumpers) and producer/engineer Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Margo Price) to co-produce the album and bring her dream to life. Recorded live to tape at Tokic’s analog studio wonderland The Bomb Shelter in Nashville, the album features Crouch (bass), Chris Scruggs (guitar, steel guitar), Jeff Taylor (piano, organ, accordion), Matty Meyer (drums, percussion), Billy Contreras (fiddle), with guest appearances from Brennen Leigh, Sierra Ferrell, and legendary pedal steel maestro Lloyd Green.
Tamar Berk’s compelling blend of alt rock and power pop [ffo: Liz Phair, Juliana Hatfield]
Today we’re excited to introduce you to Tamar Berk. The Cleveland native has called many cities home, making a name for herself in a number of Chicago powerpop bands, with releases on Minty Fresh and Kill Rock Stars, before moving to Portland, and finally landing in San Diego. With a wealth of experience behind her, it’s with great pleasure that we announce the release of her debut solo LP, The Restless Dreams of Youth, a moving blending of power pop, indie folk, and moody shoegaze atmospherics.
The project started during the initial lockdown, with each band member working remotely with producers including Toby Scott (Gorgon City, Pet Shop Boys). The result is Reverie, a collection that packs fresh invention, irrepressible live energy, and a sunshine shot of optimism just when it’s needed the most.

Wonho is further exploring his range of artistry on this album by showcasing his songwriting and producing skills throughout multiple tracks. The focus track “Lose” depicts the story of a man who has overcome the trauma of parting, trying to get over the breakup to face and find his true self. With lyrics such as “Don’t wanna fight. Don’t wanna play. I can’t get over you. Just wanna watch. You leave tonight. It’s something I can’t do. Cos baby in your game of love. I know I’m gonna lose,” Wonho showcases his ability to embrace and exhibit the emotions he’s holding inside. In addition, the music video, using implicit fantasy elements, strongly conveys a man’s struggle to escape his nightmare.

Get Off The Internet, which rallies against our overreliance on social media and online personas, is a coming of age album of sorts, reflecting on the cynicism, self-sabotage, and personal frustrations that Duce – former front-man of Lower Than Atlantis, the band proclaimed as the “future of British alternative-rock” – wrestled with during the early stages of recording the EP.

Victoria Bailey (classic country) releases acoustic version of song “Skid Row” today
Huntington Beach, CA-based classic country singer-songwriter Victoria Bailey is releasing a brand new, solo acoustic version of “Skid Row” today, February 26, 2021, via Rock Ridge Music. The original, full-band version of the song appeared on her album released last year, Jesus, Red Wine & Patsy Cline. The acoustic version of “Skid Row” is a standalone single and does not appear on the album. “Skid Row (Acoustic)” premiered on February 25th at Adobe & Teardrops, who wrote, “Victoria Bailey’s spin on classic country will scratch your itch for music that’s authentic and relevant to our times. A first run through A Proposed Method for Determining Sanding Fitness by the Cincinnati / Columbus based no-wave / noise-rock trio Stella Research Committee speaks to the enduring legacy of the convulsive spasm of unregulated expression of the garroted power trio set-up. In it we hear a weaponized insurgency against form implanted into the concussive blasts of nerve-shredded guitars and electronics, hoarse shouts into the void and pummeling percussion undergirding the compositions with carpet-bombing intensity. Like all good noise-rock, the agitated output is an audible channeling of the absurd horror and malaise of life in a dying empire. There is no mythologizing of expression here. Disgraced Mets center fielder Lenny Dykstra steroid-fueled rants and Brainbombs death-threats are given to the same type of exegesis. A recognition that we are defined by our most naked and unhinged moments. Spiritual clarity while blasting Throbbing Gristle while screaming through the Midwestern dead space of I-71 between Columbus and Cincinnati.
Wheel share brand new single ‘Fugue’
“The title was inspired by a form of long-distance space travel in the Dan Simmon’s series Hyperion Cantos,” explains vocalist and guitarist James Lascelles. “In the books, cryogenic fugue allows individuals to enter a form of stasis that enables them to cross vast cosmic distances; the convenience of this suspended state presents major risks however, such as brain damage.
Zoe Zobrist Releases New Single “Fade Away”

Eric Hirshberg shares debut album ‘Spare Room’ and new video for “Drive”
Hirshberg says of “Drive”: “I have always loved The Cars, and of course ‘Drive’ is one of their most iconic songs. But I have always felt that the polished, 80s production of the original somewhat obscured the raw intensity of the lyrics. I love it when a cover can reveal something new about a song you know and love and I thought there was an opportunity to do that with ‘Drive.’ This is a song about addiction and the impact that has on relationships. Someone is hitting bottom, and their partner is walking away. It’s dark. I wanted to strip the song down to its essence so that darkness and intensity had nowhere to hide.”
Curtis Waters Releases New Song ‘Conceited,’ Out Today
Speaking on the track, Curtis reveals, “Conceited is a song I made because I was listening to a lot of 2010s pop music. I wanted to see what the 2021 Curtis waters version of that era would sound like. Conceited is fun, upbeat and a little cheesy. The lyrics are about being conceited it’s supposed to be a bit ironic.”

On the inspiration behind her new single, Dava shares, “This song was written about survival and staying true to yourself. I was having a hard time financially after moving to LA and my phone was shut off while on my way to this session. I was upset with myself for prioritizing music when I really needed the money from driving Uber to stay afloat.”

“I wanted the video for ‘Near’ to reflect the immersive nature of the Mimic EP,” he explains. “Whilst listening to the song I am playing a futuristic anti-gravity racing game called WipEout. I’m concentrating on playing this whilst getting taken over by the song’s clashing synths and guitars, and eventually finding the music more enticing and entertaining than this high octane video game.”
