Carper’s refreshingly unique style calls to mind greats like Kitty Wells, Billie Holiday, and Loretta Lynn, beautifully conveyed in the grooves of the album’s 12 sparkling gems. Carper enlisted fellow bassist Dennis Crouch (The Time Jumpers) and producer/engineer Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Margo Price) to co-produce the album and bring her dream to life. Recorded live to tape at Tokic’s analog studio wonderland The Bomb Shelter in Nashville, the album features Crouch (bass), Chris Scruggs (guitar, steel guitar), Jeff Taylor (piano, organ, accordion), Matty Meyer (drums, percussion), Billy Contreras (fiddle), with guest appearances from Brennen Leigh, Sierra Ferrell, and legendary pedal steel maestro Lloyd Green.

Wonho is further exploring his range of artistry on this album by showcasing his songwriting and producing skills throughout multiple tracks. The focus track “Lose” depicts the story of a man who has overcome the trauma of parting, trying to get over the breakup to face and find his true self. With lyrics such as “Don’t wanna fight. Don’t wanna play. I can’t get over you. Just wanna watch. You leave tonight. It’s something I can’t do. Cos baby in your game of love. I know I’m gonna lose,” Wonho showcases his ability to embrace and exhibit the emotions he’s holding inside. In addition, the music video, using implicit fantasy elements, strongly conveys a man’s struggle to escape his nightmare.

HEADACHE Releases Get Off The Internet

Get Off The Internet, which rallies against our overreliance on social media and online personas, is a coming of age album of sorts, reflecting on the cynicism, self-sabotage, and personal frustrations that Duce – former front-man of Lower Than Atlantis, the band proclaimed as the “future of British alternative-rock” – wrestled with during the early stages of recording the EP.

Joy Oladokun’s new song “jordan” debuts today

Of the song, Oladokun shares, “I wrote ‘jordan’ the day I decided to come out. I had spent a lot of time in self isolation dreaming of what it meant to be fully known. Letting myself imagine and eventually build a life where I could be loved and happy was my first step into the journey of being fully seen.”

Images of Eden Announces Brand New Album ‘Angel Born’

Veteran metal band Images of Eden announces its fifth studio album, entitled Angel Born. The album is the follow-up to the band’s 2018 album, Soulrise, which was produced by the legendary Bill Metoyer. Angel Born will be released on March 26, 2021, via Pavement Entertainment. Of “Dreams Are Not Enough,” Tyler commented “I was brought up to believe in myself. My mother always said: Believe in yourself and go for it, go for your dreams! So dreams are not enough…Do something about them. If you have dreams, everybody can do something, you know? And I believed in myself as my mother taught me. And you know, that’s a great song to say both: get out and make your dreams come true! I think after what we have all been through over the past year, the song that was written by Neil Lockwood says it all. I have been dreaming of being back on stage singing for everyone. I can’t wait to be back with my band and life being back to normal. That’s my dream.”

Mara Connor shares ‘Twin Peaks’-inspired take on Fats Domino’s “Ain’t That A Shame”

”Fats Domino basically invented rock and roll,” Connor says. “‘Ain’t That A Shame’ was the first song John Lennon learned to play, George Harrison said ‘I’m In Love Again’ was the first rock ‘n’ roll song he ever heard, and Elvis called Fats the ‘real king of rock ‘n’ roll’ but somehow Fats gets left off of a lot of lists featuring many artists that he inspired.”

“Anthem” is an electro-pop sizzler that hints at spiritual awakening. Tilian wrote the song after a creative breakthrough, finding inspiration during a difficult time. The accompanying video, directed by Dillon Novak, plays off of that energy with surreal yet stunning visuals.

The accompanying video captures the exhilarating sense of being “one with the night.” GIIA takes viewers on a whirlwind journey to beloved Brooklyn spots like Joe’s Pizza, Williamsburg Deli and Roebling Deli. The clip was directed by Mynxii White, a Leica ambassador whose credits include “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” tours with such artists as Kanye West, Dave Navarro and Margaret Cho and numerous editorial posts, including her current gig as Beauty Editor at Schön! Magazine.

The video is directed by Eric Maldin who has previously worked alongside iconic brands such as Red Bull & VICE, as well as directing two previous productions for Gorgon City; the stunning videos for “Nobody” and “Burning.” In “You’ve Done Enough,” Maldin continues his unique style of film and production, utilizing an array of effects that perfectly compliment the soulful mood of the track.

Sycco shares neon-lit dream “My Ways” via Future Classic

In the midst of a challenging 2020, which brought international touring and travel to a grinding halt, Sycco’s drippy, head-bopping earworms have still managed to garner a worldwide fanbase. After earning praise from the like of Billboard, Paper, Cool Hunting, Nylon, Paste, Ones To Watch, Spotify, Apple Music, triple j, as well as +9million streams online, Sycco announced late last year her signing with Future Classic. Sycco recently debuted at #29 in Australian broadcaster triple j’s iconic Hottest 100 2020 poll with “Dribble,” making her the highest ranked new local artist in this year’s poll. Her first ever upcoming national tour, comprising 12 shows in three cities across Australia, (yes, other parts of the world are now touring) sold out in less than 24 hours.

Stella Research Committee (Cincinnati / Columbus, Ohio Noise-Rock Power-Trio) Release New Single & Music Video, “The Blast Cabinet

A first run through A Proposed Method for Determining Sanding Fitness by the Cincinnati / Columbus based no-wave / noise-rock trio Stella Research Committee speaks to the enduring legacy of the convulsive spasm of unregulated expression of the garroted power trio set-up. In it we hear a weaponized insurgency against form implanted into the concussive blasts of nerve-shredded guitars and electronics, hoarse shouts into the void and pummeling percussion undergirding the compositions with carpet-bombing intensity. Like all good noise-rock, the agitated output is an audible channeling of the absurd horror and malaise of life in a dying empire. There is no mythologizing of expression here. Disgraced Mets center fielder Lenny Dykstra steroid-fueled rants and Brainbombs death-threats are given to the same type of exegesis. A recognition that we are defined by our most naked and unhinged moments. Spiritual clarity while blasting Throbbing Gristle while screaming through the Midwestern dead space of I-71 between Columbus and Cincinnati.

Wheel share brand new single ‘Fugue’

“The title was inspired by a form of long-distance space travel in the Dan Simmon’s series Hyperion Cantos,” explains vocalist and guitarist James Lascelles. “In the books, cryogenic fugue allows individuals to enter a form of stasis that enables them to cross vast cosmic distances; the convenience of this suspended state presents major risks however, such as brain damage.

Zoe Zobrist Releases New Single “Fade Away”

“Fade Away” is both an exercise in self-forgiveness and an acceptance of unresolved trauma. “It’s about growing pains and healing as you work your way to and from different chapters in your life,” Zobrist writes. “It’s about looking towards something better while also embracing the process that it takes to get there.” Zobrist’s dusty vocals and stripped-back acoustic guitar guide the track with a raw intimacy that immediately envelops the listener into her thoughts in a way that feels like a peek inside her diary. In keeping with her 2020 singles, “Fire,” “Who You Gonna Be,” and “All My Friends Are Dead,” “Fade Away” is another defiant, deliberate, and deeply personal addition to her fast-growing repertoire.

After a hugely monumental 2020 that saw one of Denmark’s biggest exports take the bull by the horns, from his ‘Me, Myself, Online’ concept that saw him perform solo across mind-blowing, truly unique locations to bring fans some joy during an unprecedented year, over to being announced as the first ever DJ/ producer to become an XFactor judge in his native country, Martin Jensen now returns to the studio in stellar form with the much-needed tonic of ‘2019’.

Eric Hirshberg shares debut album ‘Spare Room’ and new video for “Drive”

Hirshberg says of “Drive”: “I have always loved The Cars, and of course ‘Drive’ is one of their most iconic songs. But I have always felt that the polished, 80s production of the original somewhat obscured the raw intensity of the lyrics. I love it when a cover can reveal something new about a song you know and love and I thought there was an opportunity to do that with ‘Drive.’ This is a song about addiction and the impact that has on relationships. Someone is hitting bottom, and their partner is walking away. It’s dark. I wanted to strip the song down to its essence so that darkness and intensity had nowhere to hide.”

Curtis Waters Releases New Song ‘Conceited,’ Out Today

Speaking on the track, Curtis reveals, “Conceited is a song I made because I was listening to a lot of 2010s pop music. I wanted to see what the 2021 Curtis waters version of that era would sound like. Conceited is fun, upbeat and a little cheesy. The lyrics are about being conceited it’s supposed to be a bit ironic.”

Dava Chases “New Ceilings” on Bold New Single

On the inspiration behind her new single, Dava shares, “This song was written about survival and staying true to yourself. I was having a hard time financially after moving to LA and my phone was shut off while on my way to this session. I was upset with myself for prioritizing music when I really needed the money from driving Uber to stay afloat.”

Introducing Purient; Listen to title track from Memories EP ft Eartheater + Varg²™

Oscillating synths, breathless vocals and clanging percussion, the EBM heavy composition slowly builds with intensity, counting down the moments before a shriek pounds the acid house alarm. Of the release Durman says “I wrote ‘Memories’ in early 2018 with the intention of producing a club track that DJs could tool and have fun with. Lyrically, the song speaks to the concept of being attached to an idea that you once had of someone.”

Zak Abel has released his new track, ‘Be Kind’ — his first new solo music of 2021. Co-written with Nate Cyphert (Marshmello, Bebe Rexha) and produced by Nick Ruth, ‘Be Kind’ radiates the warmth and sincerity that Zak put out into the world throughout the course of 2020.

Dare Above Nemo shares video for new track ‘Near’

“I wanted the video for ‘Near’ to reflect the immersive nature of the Mimic EP,” he explains. “Whilst listening to the song I am playing a futuristic anti-gravity racing game called WipEout. I’m concentrating on playing this whilst getting taken over by the song’s clashing synths and guitars, and eventually finding the music more enticing and entertaining than this high octane video game.”
