“I started the idea for ‘Lonely’ in my home in Los Angeles during the middle of the night near the beginning of the first quarantine lock down. I basically just had a really simple track and melody with the mostly the same lyrics that ended up being the chorus of the song. It was one of those ideas that I wasn’t really thinking about too much, just writing what I felt in that moment. I wanted to capture the feeling of isolation in the realest way possible.
John Paul Keith releases new album ‘The Rhythm of the City’ today – Watch new video
To celebrate the release, he has now shared the video for one of the record’s highlights, the wonderully uplifting ‘Sun’s Gonna Shine Again’. He explains: “Promoting an album without being able to tour presents a unique challenge. We’d already finished the record by the time the pandemic started, but we hadn’t decided on when or how to release it. I kept hearing about pop stars shooting music videos with iPhones so I thought I’d give it a try, since I’d never made a music video at all before. After a few months of trial and error we released my first video, ‘How Can You Walk Away’, and people liked it well enough for me to make another one”.
Babygirl Release “You Were In My Dream Last Night” Single & Video
“’You Were in My Dream Last Night’ is about the experience of having a vivid dream where everything works out and then the cruel joke of waking up to realize that it doesn’t all work out,” says Babygirl. “We wanted the production to capture the sweetness and the sadness of this experience. When you fall in love for the first time, it’s really hard to imagine it’s ever going to end. And when it does, that idea of “forever” is still lodged somewhere in your subconscious. You visit it and watch it disappear all over again.”
BRYNN ELLIOTT RELEASES STUNNING PIANO VERSION OF “TELL ME I’M PRETTY”

LO-FI PRODUCER KINA COLLABORATES WITH MOKITA ON NEW TRACK “I’M NOT GOING BACK”
In speaking about the collaboration, Kina says: “I discovered Mokita thanks to Spotify – I remember when ‘Colorblind’ started playing on shuffle; I was shocked and kept the song playing on loop for a long time. I knew I needed to make a song with him…and now here’s ‘I’m Not Going Back.’ We worked remotely because of the COVID situation (and because I’m in Lisbon and he’s from the U.S.). The song was born in an incredibly difficult but inspirational period that I was living in. I’m so happy with the final result simply because it completely represents my mood during that period of time.”
Bouncing boss-life bars off one another with palpable chemistry, Young Dolph and Key Glock are a truly dynamic duo. Coming together with a series of escalating flexes, Dolph & Glock share “Case Closed,” a new single. Produced by Paper Route EMPIRE’s own Bandplay, who combines haunting vox synths with a boss-battle bassline and ominous keys, Dolph and Glock present an irrefutable argument that nobody can rack up or spend bands in the way that they can: “I put VS stones in my glasses/Stuffed a quarter mil in 20s in a mattress/It used to be who get the bomb off the fastest/Now a n**** make millions of ad-libs (yeah yeah!),” intones Dolph. Though they can’t help but boast about their ends, they never forget the circumstances from which they emerged: “Went from sleeping on the floor/Now my jewelry box froze,” rhymes Dolph in the song’s hook. “Case Closed” is the second collab of the year from the Dum & Dummer duo, following “Green Light,” a highlight single from Dolph’s Rich Slave (Deluxe) album.

ELI BROWN COLLIDES WITH TALK SHOW FOR THE BROODING PUNK INSPIRED TECHNO OF “TROUBLE”
Eli Brown’s “Killer” placed the Bristol producer firmly on the global electronic music map. “Killer” marked a new chapter in a career lauded by the likes of Carl Cox, Green Velvet, Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, The Blessed Madonna and more. Continuing his work with Calvin Harris as part of his Love Regenerator project, Green Velvet, Joe Goddard and other premiere dance producers, Eli Brown’s reputation is largely based within the subversive. Bringing dark, ethereal tones to the fore within his own work, Brown’s alternative approach to production draws Dance Music’s elite into his darkly hued atmospheres, leading them into uncharted territory. Today however, Eli Brown invites a rising act creating a truly formidable presence; South London punks Talk Show on new track “Trouble,” out now via Astralwerks.

PESTIFER unveil “Expanding the Virus” documentary [SciFi Death Metal]
Belgian SciFi Tech Death masters PESTIFER have just unleashed a documentary about the recording of new album “Expanding Oblivion”, its release amidst the current pandemic, a gig with a sat audience, their relationship with XENOKORP and a forthcoming live in the studio recording during the Belgian quarantine.
With both artists arriving for the first time into the Top10 of the recent Top100DJs poll, Alok at #5 and Timmy Trumpet at #10, this latest collaboration from the pair is something special. The spectacular fusion of these two electronic titans coming together on ‘Underwater Love’ has shaped a track soaked in a dark, booming tone, and it is one that enabled LA Vision to latch onto this magic and add another intense layer of songwriting flair. All of which has been packaged in the style of a remix and magnificently executed. Stabs of swarming bass underpinning LA Vision’s vocal part before humming synths lines pulsate into an unavoidably entrancing melody.
For his debut album, SG Lewis (real name Sam Lewis) has enlisted a blockbuster collection of guests, continuing a long line of stellar collaborations that have singled him out as one of music’s most sought after producers.

Alice Phoebe Lou shares new single and video for “Dirty Mouth”
Speaking more on the track, Alice shares: “’Dirty Mouth’ is an upbeat punk banger with a badass attitude begging you to dance around your room naked and scream out what you really feel. The words are written from an uninhibited, no bullshit, part of myself that I often hide with manners, pleasantries & politeness. It’s a big smiling middle finger to the men that have pulled me down, used me & hurt me in ways that took me years to heal. Asking for what I want. Saying how I feel. Not holding back.”

“”Jungle Out There” is what we think would happen if guitar hero Eddie Van Halen, had a baby with the ragtime composer, Scott Joplin in 2021. The catchy and jaunty single has some arpeggiated piano, bouncy bass, foot-tapping rim shots and slick guitar work to start off. Then the track picks up speed and so does the shredding by virtuoso Alessandro Meynardi, aka AM Dandy, as the range and preciseness he displays, is simply jaw-dropping. When the track ends, you really have no choice, but to listen again and again to try to comprehend it all…it’s that good.” (Pancakes and Whiskey)

“Apparently coming from a post-hardcore-punk past, Oakland-based band inject boundless energy into reverb-dusted nostalgic 6-string chords weaving sparkling distorted mesmerizing textures through punchy drum beats, gurgling throbbing bassline, and dreamy, falling male vocals …. 90s guitar tinged melancholic bliss.”- White Light/White Heat
Matthew Alec and The Soul Electric release debut jazz-fusion album ‘Cleveland Time’
“This album has a little bit of everything in it which is exactly what I set out to do,” says saxophonist Matthew Alec. “I wanted a few tunes that were short with strong hooks that would capture people’s attention, I wanted to feature our two vocalists on a tune of their own, I wanted to have at least a couple of traditional modern jazz tunes for the jazz fans out there, and I wanted to feature an industry legend… where I completely lucked out and found Bones Malone who loved the project. Whether you’re a jazz, funk, soul, or even pop music fan I think this album has something on it for you.”
