DC’s Rosie Cima & What She Dreamed (lo-fi emo folk punk) release visceral first single “Stuck”

A data journalist by trade, Rosie Cima collects facts, overheard stories, memories, and the truth at the heart of interactions and meticulously collages them into a big picture view. A thoughtful, well-read and intellectual songwriter, Rosie is inspired as much by former poet laureate Robert Hass, as well as contemporaries like Big Thief and Hop Along. Now signed to the inspiring new DC-based nonprofit label This Could Go Boom! who releases music from gender-diverse artists, the lineup for Rosie Cima & What She Dreamed consists of Steve Burch (he/him), a bilingual middle school librarian on bass, Mashaal Ahmed (she/her) from the United Arab Emirates on drums, and Barrett Browne (he/him), a formerly Cameroon-stationed Peace Corps member, on lead guitar. The band brings a harder-edged sound to the folk arrangements Rosie picked up and carried with them cross-country from San Francisco, CA, where they previously worked with Oakland’s experimental, ambient producer Geoff Saba.

NJOMZA SHARES NEW SINGLE “LUCKY”

Los Angeles-based singer NJOMZA has released the live version of “Lucky” via SinceThe80s/Motown. On the forceful track the duo smack-talk while spitting verses on their street-savviness and their livelihoods. Together, their energies are at an all-time high and the Louisville community visibly matches their enthusiasm during this glorious moment. The original track released last summer caught the attention of Pitchfork who praised the up-and-coming rapper, “Gee presses into its kick to create a kind of friction. As EST Gee establishes the sound of his Louisville on “Get Money,” he feels like a small-town star.”

SILENT WINTER – “Gates of Fire” lyric video, from upcoming album “Empire of Sins”.

The Greek power metallers from Thessaly, Silent Winter, released the first lyric video from their long-awaited upcoming new album “Empire of Sins” for the track “Gates of Fire”. The video was created by Harry Kountouris, who was also responsible for the equally excellent video for the song “Nightfall”, which Silent Winter released a year ago.

Cognitive Dissonance New Stratospheerius song

Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius have released “Cognitive Dissonance,” their first song of the year, with a video to follow in late February. The video is a clay-mation collaboration with Patrick Carmichael, who has subbed on drums for the band through the years.
