Pioneers of the British music scene, ‘Blackest Blue’ will be the band’s 10th studio album in a discography that spans three decades. 2020 saw Morcheeba unable to tour or perform live, which gave Skye Edwards & Ross Godfrey “time to write songs and really get to hone them,” as Godfrey puts it. “There weren’t so many pressures so we could really take our time getting the songs right,” adds Edwards.

The Fernweh are BACK! ‘The Wounds Of Love’ is out now…

Renowned for the majesty of their 2018 self-titled, debut album, expansive, literary-psych sonic buccaneers, The Fernweh return with their pulsing comeback single, The Wounds Of Love on Winterlude Records. In an age of anger, claustrophobia and desire, the band dispenses with the sound of acid-spiked afternoon teas to travel lightspeed to the plugged-in, bombastic 80’s and live in a retro-modernist world of synth-classicism, Tron and hip-hop wordplay.

R&B Newcomer goodboy noah Drops “tie down”

On the inspiration behind his new single, “tie down,” goodboy noah shares, “‘tie down’ is about finding someone that you think could be the one, not just a partner, but a partner in crime. I challenged myself to write a love song without using the word ‘love,’ and this is what came out. I brought the demo to Micah Gordon to produce it, and when he played the strings for the outro on his Nord keyboard I started freaking out because it was exactly how I thought the song was supposed to feel.”

“The only America I’ve known is very bloody, very white, and very blue,” she furthers. “To sing a song that has been written many times over generations, has been humbling and heartbreaking, but I proudly take my place amongst my musical ancestors in protest.”

XIXA Celebrates Chicano Culture in Video for New Song “Eclipse” – Out Today!

Set for release on February 19th, 2021 via Jullian Records, Genesis marks the Arizona band’s sophomore full-length LP and is available for pre-order or pre-save now.

Bandleader Brian Lopez notes of “Eclipse:” “…the chorus is intentionally written in a chicha-inspired major key, to give a sense of lightness and hope: ‘…Eclipsed by the wounds on my brother, eclipsed by the love we must find.’ A far departure, lyrically, from some of the darker themes that populate our music…But a fitting song and message for the time.” His counterpart in leading the band Gabriel Sullivan adds: “‘Eclipse’ explores what XIXA is about: dark and haunting landscapes as well as the uplifting and catchy melodies of Chicha music.”

Beep beep on over to see the accompanying visual odyssey, directed by Jenny:

Jane Inc (member of U.S. Girls ffo: Sorry, Melody’s Echo Chamber) | Shares new single, “Steel”

Tipped so far by The Line of Best Fit, NPR, Brooklyn Vegan and Earmilk, unlike Carlyn’s previous musical output, this is solely her project, written and produced by herself. She worked with a few extra hands on the record – members of U.S. Girls, Aquakultre and Scott Hardware contributed, as well as esteemed Toronto producer, Steve Chahley (Badge Èpoque Ensemble, Kathryn Williams) – but the fact that this is solely down to her is pretty representative of how deeply personal this record is to Bezic, emerging as an unraveling of her views on mental health and the role which social media/the internet can play in damaging it.

The proposal out of any classification is based on a unique use of electronics combined with rock, rap, post-hardcore and crossover influences. The band immediately enters the Alpha Omega Management rooster for live promotion but unfortunately the global situation of covid-19 has blocked the plans to perform live in 2020, allowing at the same time to shift the focus on the publication of the first album “KILLING FIELD” mixed by Evan Rodaniche (Cage9, Powerman 5000) out on 13th November 2020 on all digital stores together with the official video from the title track on the band’s YouTube channel. Benin City believe that dance is a form of protest, and “Freaking You Out” delivers that mantra with inarguable clarity. Consisting of Joshua Idehen, Tom Leaper and Shanaz Dorsett, the trio make rousing dance-tinged electronic pop music, born from the highs and lows of London nightlife – where they initially met.

The Rumjacks – new single ‘Hestia’ out now

It’s a huge track, and the title track of their upcoming fifth album, which is out on March 12th. Steeped in layers of symbolism, it’s about a girl who shoots down a personified wolf in an act of defence, wrapped up in their irresistibly infectious and driving brand of Celtic punk.

The Reds, Pinks & Purples announces Slumberland LP & shares first single/video

From the many musical lives of artist Glenn Donaldson emerges The Reds, Pinks & Purples, a project that sifts out the purest elements of pop music and in the process chronicles the point of view of an assiduous San Francisco-based songwriter. The Reds, Pinks & Purples’ third album, called Uncommon Weather, is both an elusive portrait of San Francisco––during one of its fluctuations as an untenable place for musicians and artists––and also a self-portrait, however inverted, of a songwriter who has dispatched another treasured collection of timeless sounding DIY-pop songs.
