Jessie Villa first encountered the music scene by winning multiple songwriting competitions in New Jersey and working with a NYC-based manager, who started setting writing sessions up for the artist in Nashville, TN. After winning Simon Cowell’s “The You Generation” live covers competition, Villa transferred to Belmont University, and in her first month living in Nashville, she opened for Kris Allen and Boyce Avenue at Cannery Ballroom on their No Limits tour. Shortly after, she had her first songwriting cut with popular YouTube cover artist Alice Kristiansen with her song “Twilight Blue” (co-written with Mark Conklin and Jessica Cayne).

If you think you know what this album sounds like based on past albums you’ve heard of Bill’s, you’re wrong. This thing is really raising the bar for any singer/player/producer/songwriter albums, even Bill’s past albums. Bill Champlin has a long career of great music and Livin’ For Love is the cherry on the cupcake.

The 2 artists built a friendship and in early 2020, connected to record the melodic street anthem shortly before Von’s untimely passing. There were also plans to make a video for the single featuring Rock and Von. In “Rose Gold,” Rock raps about his friends that have passed away: “Two tone rose gold, Cartier skeleton. Fretland shares new song ‘One More Try’
Today, Fretland released the song “One More Try” from their forthcoming sophomore album Could Have Loved You via Soundly Music due out on March 26.
The release of “One More Try” follows previously released songs “Could Have Loved You,” which premiered via Kelly McCartney’s Southern Craft Radio on Apple Music, and “Do You Think of Me,” which premiered exclusively via Atwood Magazine.
