The Lumineers co-founder, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Jeremiah Fraites has teamed up acclaimed videographer/marine biologist Paul Nicklen for a powerful video set to his new single “Maggie.” In close collaboration with SeaLegacy, 21st-century storytellers that use cutting-edge media to build community and restore the health and abundance of our oceans, the video features stunning footage of Alaska’s Bristol Bay in order to showcase the urgent action required to protect it from the proposed Pebble Mine, one of the largest proposed gold and copper mines in the world. If built, the mine poses a serious threat to the watershed, salmon, other fisheries, and grizzly bears, which could lead to an environmental disaster.

It’s a sad song but also from a place of anger. It’s really about a feeling of helplessness that unfortunately seems to sum up the year so far.”

Portland-based dark ambient/industrial noise project SCARD is pleased to unveil the caustic sounds of “Impenetrable Will.” Now playing at Ghost Cult, the demoralizing track comes off the impending Rusted Lock full-length, set to drop November 6th via Scry Recordings.
SCARD – led by one J. Huston – began in 2001 in Seattle before relocating to Portland a year later. Drawing from dark ambient, power electronics, death industrial, and black noise, SCARD unites their personal origins in the forested regions of Oregon with eventual scum of city life to create a harsh, layered, and multi-faceted sound.
Based in Glasgow, Nico started writing and composing at the age of six. With her distinctive blend of melodic lines and potent lyrics, Nico delivers an enchanting and memorable performance, most notably when performing her original material.
