Today, the Jamaican-born, Charlotte-based musician Sanya N’Kanta has shared his new song “The Hard Lesson.” The track is currently streaming on American Songwriter who calls it “An emotionally gripping song.” “The Hard Lesson” will be available on streaming services this Friday, October 23rd. Sanya N’Kanta will release his new EP These Are The Days via Cash Hill Records on February 19th.

Parisian producer Niels Schack introduces himself with clubby alt-pop single “Bando”
Niels Schack is a multi-faceted artist, composer and singer based in Paris, France. Painter, professional snowboarder, film director and musician, he’s not one to rest on his laurels, and today Schack releases his new single “Bando”, lifted from his newly-announced EP ‘Jade’ – set for release November 11th via Production Production.
Taking inspiration from the likes of Toro Y Moi, Yves Tumor and Damon Albarn, “Bando” unites abrasive electronic production with gently lilting synth movements. Dark and melancholic yet uplifting in its delivery – “Bando” is a 21st century ballad, penned for the Paris nightlife.
Lil Gotit Gets Some Things Off His Chest in “Tellin Ya”
Wielding a unique sense of rhythm and a mastery of burbling melodies, Lil Gotit is a favorite son of the Atlanta trap scene. Getting back in his bag with an infectious rich life anthem, Gotit shares “Tellin Ya,” his latest video single. On “Tellin Ya,” Gotit gets his Muhammad Ali on, floating like a butterfly with melodic arias, and stinging like a bee with clipped cadences and sharp ad-libs. In the video, Gotit dresses to the nines in butterfly-themed designer, mobbing under neon lights with guest rapper Lil PJ. “Tellin Ya” is Gotit’s first new song since “What It Was,” a dramatic collaboration with trap godfather Future, and first video since the intimate, WHIPALO-directed “Crazy Thoughts,” a highlight from the 21-year-old rapper’s April 2020 project Hood Baby 2.

The video traverses both fantasy and reality, furthering the element of rebirth that is constant through Oklou’s debut mixtape, Galore, recently out on True Panther / Tap Records.

Boulevards To Release “Brother!” EP December 18th – Flood Magazine Premieres “Luv n Pain” Video Today
Jamil Rashad, who performs under the name Boulevards, has signed to the New West Records imprint Normaltown Records and is set to release the Brother! EP on December 18th, 2020. The 4-song set was produced and co-written by Blake Rhein, guitarist for the midwestern soul revival outfit Durand Jones & The Indications. A culmination of several years of writing and playing and touring and recording, the Raleigh, North Carolina-based Boulevards’ Brother! EP is about race and reckoning in America, about broken hearts and self-inflicted suffering. It is the most explicitly political record than anything he has done in the past. Its songs draw on the albums Rashad heard growing up while his father was a radio DJ at 88.9 WSHA in Raleigh: early Funkadelic, Sly Stone, Rick James, Curtis Mayfield, and Shuggie Otis, among others. “My dad put me on to that music, and I’ve always been attracted to those artists. That’s who I was inspired by, but I wanted to make it my own, make it Boulevards.”
