How to Plan a Vietnam Trip from Dubai

Many people in Dubai ask us how to plan a Vietnam trip. So here is how our family trip went.

Our Trip

Went with family – me, my wife with 2 kids, we visited Ha Long Bay, Hoi An and Da Nang, weather was pleasant approx 22 to 25 degree. It was comfortable enough for us to enjoy sightseeing and spending time outdoors with the kids. Our main priority was a trip focused more on enjoying nature, exploring local places and full relaxation without hopping around daily from one place to another.

Flight and Visa from Dubai

Went through the Emirates flight from Dubai to Vietnam, that took approx 7 hrs. We took help from a Dubai local tour company – Efficient Tourism that managed everything from flight booking, visa and Vietnam tour packages. Would suggest to not to try to do everything from you, its takes lot of time and headache.

Better to check your passport validity and visa requirements before you jump into booking flight tickets. Also, keep your flight tickets, hotel booking details and travel documents handy during the journey.

Vegetarian Food

We are vegetarian so this was little difficult, although we informed this in advance with our tour operator and accordingly they plan our itinerary. The hotel on which we were staying included our breakfast. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and he find out the local Indian restaurant. We tried veg fried rice, and paneer kofta.

I would suggest informing your tour operator in Dubai about your food preferences – this makes your trip way more easier and fun. You can also carry a few snacks from Dubai for the journey. When travelling with kids, snacks can keep them busy.

Ha Long Bay

During our time in the Ha Long Bay, we liked the limestone islands and it was really impressive. We also did the Boat ride. Kids love the boat riding. The views were beautiful there. Keep some time here for taking pictures and enjoying the views. Do not keep rushing through the experience.

Hoi An

During the Hoi An tour, we explored the lantern-lit Old Town. It was a colorful place and we all loved it. Kids liked the streets a lot. Walking around the old town was a nice experience. And what we loved the most are the colourful lanterns and small shops. I would suggest visiting in the evening when the lanterns make the streets look even more beautiful.

Da Nang

Da Nang was also good place, specially the beaches. The water was crystal clear and the beaches were less crowded, had enough space for kids to play around. We found this perfect place to relax casually after sightseeing. Do not fill every day with activities, keep some free time as well. Family holidays are meant for complete relaxation with your loved ones.

Cost and Payment

We paid AED 2,700 per person, we were total 4 pax and paid total 10,000 after discount. Although if planned everything from mine side, i could saved approx 2,000 AED but lot of headache and since it was our first tour in Vietnam so it was a good decision to go through travel agency. We paid via credit card.

How Many Days

Since its a beautiful place, i would suggest to go for at least 5 days, 3 days is not enough.
