Phoenix Alt-Rockers This Modern Debut New Song “Next Time Around”
Of the new single, vocalist Marcus Reardon says, “The lyrics are designed to be more sad and reflective, while the instrumental is there to uplift you and make you move- it’s a style of writing that we’ve worked a long time to nail down. The goal was to create something anthemic, but beautiful.”
Drummer Sean Whiteman adds, “The instrumental was inspired by a Cemetery Sun song, “Piece of Shit.” We’ve been listening to a lot of their music in the studio lately.”
Portland Punks OLD CROSS Releasing Debut Full-Length ‘Daggers’ on November 13
Old Cross is a three-piece melodic punk band from Portland, Oregon. Kurt Baker (Kurt Baker Combo, The Leftovers, etc) Drops New Track (“I Like Her A Lot”)
Of the track, Kurt says, “A lot of the topics on this record came out of conversations I would have with my co-writer and producer Wyatt Funderburk. I’m sure I said, “I like her a lot” in passing and then was like, “Wait…it’s so simple, but why not make that the title!” I love the line “Monday night she goes down to Amigos, never afraid to get up and dance,” mostly because of the Amigos name-drop. I’ve talked about this bar in Portland, Maine a lot, but the place really is an important spot in the making of After Party. They say it’s a Mexican restaurant but to be perfectly honest, I’ve never eaten the food there. One of my favorite choruses on the record, Wyatt suggested a few variations of the melody line that really made it pop in the end. This definitely captures our sound during a live show.”
Keegan Powell – ‘Rock N Roll Kind Of Night’ out now
After watching a hand full of documentaries one night on the tumultuous lives of Miles Davis & Elvis, the spark was lit for the initial inspiration for my new song, “Rock N Roll Kind Of Night,” I started writing the song as a tongue and cheek take on the emotional rollercoaster these great artists put themselves through while attempting to climb the ladder of the entertainment industry. It always seemed no matter how well they were doing at any given point they were always trying to run away from something, to something else. That journey they were taking inspired me to pick up the guitar, because at the time of writing, I felt I was on quite the journey myself.

Laura Groves Shares New Track “Infinite Wisdom”
Of the 6-track EP Groves says: “This record, made mostly on my own, became both a channel for the expression of an inner world and an imagined soundtrack to my physical journeys through the city. It is rooted in the stories, atmospheres, mistakes and wrong turns, desires and layers of meaning that run through and play out in the landscapes we inhabit. The songs are snapshots of late night journeys across the river, the sparks of love that transform us and keep us going, the dead ends that the mind can lead us down, the erotic; the visible and invisible places we pass through as they merge and are erased and overwritten. The ability and opportunity to create and connect through music is a gift and I’m so happy to be able to share these new explorations with you.”
