Miesha & The Spanks – Wanna Feel Good

This song was a last minute add-on while tracking our next release with Leeroy Stagger. It was just before what would be our last session, or more importantly it was his last session in his hand-built studio, the Rebeltone Rach, before tearing it down and moving West. Deadlines were closing in and time was running out.

Hear the title track off Jennifer Castle’s upcoming new album, Monarch Season, out October 16th on Paradise of Bachelors and Idée Fixe.

“I remember writing ‘Monarch Season’ last year this time. The monarchs were out in the sky, on the trees and in the meadows. Of course they are so inspiring. And yet the words I remember resonating with me the most are “I can’t help myself from flying away with them.” Something about that line felt so self-compassionate, the medicine of it worked first on me, and the rest came fast and easy. It gave me the permission to be the type of person that, at 43, still gets profoundly overwhelmed by nature and her cycles, and needs to stop what I’m doing to suddenly write a song about butterflies. Are you like that? Me too.”

Roxette – “Let Your Heart Dance With Me” Unreleased Single Available Digitally On October 2

Previously unreleased Roxette single “Let Your Heart Dance With Me,” – one of the last recordings Roxette ever did – to be released on October 2.

Thanks to songwriter Per Gessle’s prolific flow of tunes, classic Swedish pop group Roxette always had a surplus of material to choose between for their albums. Many of these leftover songs were strong contenders for inclusion, and their quality has made them loved among fans when they’ve popped up as bonus material on singles or compilations.

This was the case up until the release of Roxette’s final studio album Good Karma, which in the summer of 2016 yielded a couple of songs that wasn’t needed for the album. One of them was “Let Your Heart Dance With Me,” which finally sees the light of day thanks to BAG OF TRIX, Roxette’s magnificent collection of unreleased material which will be released later this year.

NEIL YOUNG ANNOUNCES IMMERSIVE ‘RETURN TO GREENDALE’

NEIL YOUNG is pleased to announce the release of Return To Greendale, a live album and concert film of the historic 2003 tour that brought his 25th studio album, Greendale, to life both musically and theatrically. Out November 6 via Reprise Records, the songs and performance remain topical as ever, powered by themes of environmentalism, corruption, and the destructive effects of capitalism. Featuring Young’s trusty partners Crazy Horse, the Toronto recording captures the epic experience of Young’s immersive, small-town rock opera. The multimedia exploit seamlessly blended Young’s powerful lyrics and Crazy Horse’s heavy blues thrash with musical theatre, as actors joined the band onstage to play out Greendale’s narrative as it unfolded. Like Greendale itself, the show eschews elaborate production in favor of a ragged and rough-hewn feel that does right by its source material.

Raissa debuts Mura Masa remix of “GO FAST BABY”

The original version of “GO FAST BABY,” the first offering from HEROGIRL, arrived alongside a video directed by UK-based duo bedroom (beabadoobee, The 1975).

The narrative arc of the HEROGIRL EP chronicles a hero’s journey, a classic story telling device wherein the protagonist crosses the threshold into another realm to learn a critical lesson that can then be applied to the normal world. Heavily influenced by Raissa’s fascination with sci-fi and fantasy aesthetics, the HEROGIRL EP positions Raissa as the hero of the story, but the EP’s embrace of child-like naivety, a complete lack of cynicism and finding strength in what you love—rather than focusing on what makes you miserable—extends far beyond the music to her audience.

AMERICANA-POP SINGER-SONGWRITER, CF WATKINS, RELEASES NEW SINGLE, “BABYGIRL,” AN ODE TO THE ROMANCE OF FRIENDSHIP

“Babygirl” turns the typical love song on its head – instead of focusing on romantic love, Watkins wrote the song as an ode to her best girlfriends. “When I thought of the purest love I know, these relationships were the first to come to mind,” she says. “In romance, I’ve always been very confused- but love was so clear, magic, and eternal with my best friends, those I called babygirl – who have danced with me in the early morning rain, laughing through the confusion.” She continues, “This is an album meant for other women to hear — with songs that are vulnerable and powerful.”

Based in Brooklyn for the past nine years, Watkins’ Americana-pop style embodies the influences of her North Carolina roots. Performing since the age of fourteen, she has shared the stage with acts like Langhorne Slim, Future Birds, Chatham County Line, Wilder Maker, Lowland Hum, and Alpenglow. Her 2016 debut release, I Am New, as well as the single, “Frances and Jack,” were produced by Daniel Goans of Lowland Hum at White Star Studios.

And despite a notoriously lavish and illegally-funded lifestyle, Marcos sustained a lifelong career in government. Eventually caught-out on corruption charges just two years ago, Marcos is alive to this day (aged 91) and remains a divisive public figure.

Today, Los Angeles post hardcore band Touché Amoré share their new song and video for “Reminders” off their forthcoming Ross Robinson (Slipknot, Korn, At the Drive-In) produced album, Lament due out next Friday, October 9.

The track was born out of the overwhelming anxiety that came from the controversial end result of Trump’s impeachment trial. The verses scream of political distress while the chorus is a peak at vocalist Jeremy Bolm’s attempt to calm himself down. “I think when we are all panicking, we need to have those reminders that there’s love out there for us whether we believe it or not and that’s all that we can really trust to save us,” explains Bolm.

Serena Sun – Everyone I Run From—out now

I feel that in today’s world, there are so many people who push away their personal pains by seeking daily distractions; whether that be through unhealthy relationships, obsessions with social media, or substance abuse. I confess to doing just that in my own life.

The song I am sharing with you, “Everyone I Run From,” was written in the wake of realizing I had been dealing with lingering trauma from a past relationship. I craved a cleanse from my past hurt, which I was only able to achieve through self-reflection and a desire for change.

Personal highlights from the new collection include ‘Deseo’, ‘K.L.F.G’ and first single, ‘Puddles’ – these three in particular highlight Daniela’s brilliant way of fusing electronica, soul and R&B with ‘Deseo’ highlighting her Spanish language once again.

She ascends to the moon, and lives there with the Jade Rabbit, its original inhabitant. In Mid-Autumn, we celebrate Chang-E’s sacrifice with a festival of lanterns and lights. Many centuries later, NASA tells the moon-bound Apollo 11 astronauts to look out for the Chinese queen and her rabbit. Michael Collins replies, ‘We’ll keep a close eye out for the bunny girl.’”

BLEEDING OUT: “Perpetually Finite” Now Streaming

BLEEDING OUT is a deathgrind band from Toronto, Ontario. And yet behind this seemingly banal statement lurks a far more seething and violent musical truth. Yes, BLEEDING OUT is a band with a relentless array of face-melting riffs; everything from blasting early-Earache buzzsaws to reptile brain, slow-motion skull smashers. A band that is possessed by power, fury, and a violent need to explode on stage and on record rather than wallow in tepid genre identification and weak posturing. Utilizing grindcore and death metal as a musical lens to stare long and hard at this pus filled, ingrown world as it burns and falls apart, worldview begets musical conviction, and this ouroboros of violent sounds and negative outlook exists at the very heart of the band.
