WASUREMONO return with zany indie-pop cut ‘Let’s Talk’
Wasuremono 忘れ物 (Japanese noun. Meaning: lost article; something forgotten) are a quartet driven by multi-instrumentalist William Southward – a vessel through which he channels his love to write, record and meticulously arrange atmospheric pop songs in his shed studio in Bradford-On-Avon, UK.
Following last year’s acclaimed album ‘Are You Ok?’ – which saw the band fall into a similar space as the likes of Pizzagirl, Barrie, Girl Ray and The Undercover Dream Lovers in its addictive, sophisticated LoFi pop – they return with rousing new single ‘Let’s Talk’ today. A subtle evolution in sound and intent, it’s a wonky piano lead jaunt into William’s mind and creative process.
Yiigaa ‘Closer’ video
Speaking on the feel-good track, Yiigaa said “Closer Is a song about empowerment. It’s about owning yourself, your emotions, and being in control. It’s about things changing in life and people coming and going, but always wishing them the best.”
Yiigaa (real name Yiga which means good luck) was raised in Brixton, South London. The daughter of Ivorian musician Henri Gaobi, there was always music blasting throughout the house encouraging and inspiring her strong passion for music. From the early age of seven, she was writing both her own and favourite song lyrics over her body when she was bored to kill time, ending up in her obtaining countless of diaries with song lyrics from over the years.

Bold, confident, and utterly multifaceted, Garzón-Montano explores three characters across Agüita’s 50-minute runtime: the debonair leading man, the Latin Urbano hitmaker, and the wistful impressionist. With preceding singles “Someone” and the album’s title track, “Agüita,” we’ve heard from the first two, respectively. Today, with the release of “Bloom”, the complete picture at last comes into focus.

ABSOFACTO RETURNS WITH “SOMEONE ELSE’S DREAM”
“I wrote ‘Someone Else’s Dream’ after realizing too many things about my life seemed to have been decided for me,” Absofacto shared. “The song embodies not only the feeling of realizing you’re trapped in a world built of someone else’s choices, but also the feeling of breaking out of that situation to do what you really want… even it doesn’t work out the way you expect! It’s also sort of a spiritual successor to my song ‘Dissolve’… echoing the sound of me dealing with something difficult while seeing the beauty of the journey and hope within it”
TOBACCO goes pop on new single “Jinmenken” out today
Pop impulses have always surged beneath the surface of Pennsylvanian experimentalist TOBACCO’s sound — blown-out bass, analog synths, drum machines, and Fec’s unmistakable analog gurgle and hiss. On his upcoming album Hot Wet & Sassy out just in time for Halloween on October 30th via Ghostly International, these impulses have finally bubbled to the top. And while that many not have been the first conclusion drawn after hearing the deranged collaboration with Trent Reznor in “Babysitter”, today’s release of “Jinmenken” certainly shines a bright light in that direction.

Still Woozy Shares Cozy New Single and Video “BS”
Like many of Still Woozy songs “BS” dives into Gamsky’s psyche while also offering listeners a way out of their own worries. Yes, the lyrics are about “struggling with his brain,” as he puts it, but they’re ultimately about bringing the best version of oneself to the people we love. The lush instrumental underscores that hope, shining warmth and light through the clouds of darker impulses. That sort of contrast is exactly what makes Still Woozy special, and it’s been his aim ever since he started writing songs as a kid in Northern California’s Bay Area. “I strive for this feeling of warmth to act as a buffer to some of those harsher feelings,” he says.

One of these nights it’ll all wash away
And we’ll wake up singing a brand-new song
We’ll wake up singing a whole new song
—“Confusion Wheel”

Sounding invigorated and more energized than ever, “Spirals” doubles as a tantalizing return to form as well as a rousing call to arms. Beginning with elegant circling synths that grow into a never-more-relevant anthem to hope, it uses the image of DNA to muse on the connections we have as humans being stronger than the divisions.
