NEW LYRIC VIDEO FROM SOULFUL ROCKERS THE SLIM KINGS HAS PREMIERE VIA VENTS MAGAZINE TODAY

The new lyric video from soulful rockers The Slim Kings, “Thank You,” has its premiere via Vents Magazine today; check it out here. The not-at-all grateful ode exemplifies The Slims’ sound with an irrestible melody and heartfelt (though not sincere) backing vocals. Of “Thank You,” bassist Andy Attanasio commented, “I always envied how The Rolling Stones seemed to drum up great songs out of jams, and in very quick fashion. “Thank You” was written after we had finished all the writing for the album, and the cutting lyric and the loose feel of the music is inspired by The Stones at Muscle Shoals era.”

Matthew Dear creates “New Breed” from all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E

The all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E sounds like a sci-fi fantasy – so much that it inspired a Detroit-based electronic music artist Matthew Dear to transform its sound into song. Inspired by classic ’80s sci-fi cinema, Ford sound designers worked with the studio Ozone Sound to craft electronic oscillations that emanate in and outside of the Mustang Mach-E while the vehicle is in motion.

CHAZ CARDIGAN SHARES OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “MIDDLE OF THE ROAD”

The new video underscores the song’s theme of how choices made in the past set one’s future in motion. Chaz has made some bold choices in his life – including the decision to move from his hometown of Elizabethtown, KY to Nashville when he was only 17. He explains, “‘Middle of the Road’ came from ruminating on what my life would’ve been like if I’d stayed in my hometown. I realized I would’ve been miserable, stuck in a cycle of debt and probably addicted to something, pretending to be someone I’m not for the rest of my life.”

Yves Jarvis Shares Video For New Single “Semula”

Influences on Yves Jarvis’s upcoming album Sundry Rock Song Stock include Miles Davis, Italian avant-pop composer Franco Battiato, and Dutch post-punk band The Ex, who fuse radical politics with melodic, body-moving grooves. Jarvis may be less direct in his lyrics, but makes his feelings implicit through the use of vivid metaphors. Recording vocals in a free-associative, phonetic stream of consciousness that he compares to Lil Wayne, Jarvis says the meanings behind his songs are revealed when a poetic turn of phrase tumbles off his tongue.

Skittish Share Indie-Folk Single “Intro(Vert)”

“On his latest single, ‘Intro (vert)’, Noller offers a gorgeous blend of folk-pop honesty and plainspoken sentiment. An acoustic guitar is strummed and rattled as he documents the decline of a relationship and the steps taken by each person to extricate themselves from it. But there is light here, not merely a wallowing in the fallow emotions that often accompany these painful experiences. There is humor and optimism buried in the words they share in their disjoining. There is hurt but also an understanding of how that hurt may shape them and offer solace in its embrace.

Skittish attempt to find solace in the aftermath of love through the folk-pop honesty of “Intro (Vert)” (BPM Premiere)
