The new collection of music promises adventurous house grooves saturated with emotional depth. DAN CROLL RELEASES ‘GRAND PLAN’
Serving as a diary of sorts, the album, produced by Matthew E. White, recounts the twelve-month period of personal reinvention which resulted in Croll’s move to Los Angeles from Liverpool with each song telling a story about his life in narrative order. Alongside the release of the album, Croll has partnered with The Wild Honey Pie to release a stripped-back version of “Surreal” –
“When John-Robert and Ricky asked me to be a part of the song, I was already a fan,” Kathleen says. “In thinking of my own role in the story of ‘Adeline,’ I definitely related to that idea that it brings forth—that love can exist in many forms, and just because it’s over or not mutual in the way you might’ve originally hoped – doesn’t have to mean you stop caring for them. You can still love that person, you both can still love each other regardless of the shape that it takes.”

Swift Current, Saskatchewan – Canadian Country and Western star Colter Wall just dropped “High & Mighty,” the final single from his upcoming, self-produced album Western Swing & Waltzes and Other Punchy Songs before its release on August 28th. “‘High & Mighty’ is a Saskatchewan saddle bronc song written by Lewis Martin Pederson III,” says Wall. “LMP hails from around Abbey, Saskatchewan, not far from where I grew up. He’s known for rodeoing, his poetry, and in the ’70s he put out three great records—that I know of. Saddle bronc riding is my favourite rodeo event and upon hearing Pederson’s album Rodeo No.1 Sport, I immediately knew I wanted to cut it on a record.”
Underdog Afrobeat Artist, JayQ The Legend, Triumphs in Black Charts
You might have thought that with all the amazing tracks released from stars like Beyoncé, Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion, and Dutchavelli in recent weeks, there’d be no room for underdogs in this week’s black music charts. However, British Virgin Islands bred JayQ the Legend has snagged the number 2 spot in this week’s charts, leaving the big stars playing catch-up to his recently released summer anthem ‘Amazing Girl’.

FL RISER T9INE GETS READY FOR HIS CLOSE UP IN FIERY “3 DEEP” VIDEO
Specializing in ominous street narratives delivered over classic guitar instrumentals, T9ine is the next artist of Tampa destined to make a name for himself. Today the 18-year old shares his new video for “3 Deep,” an expressive declaration that shows off T9ine’s soulful edge. Today singer, songwriter and guitarist Howie Payne releases a brand new single, ‘It Feels Like Summer’, the first taste of the ex-Stands frontman’s much anticipated forthcoming solo album, soon to be announced for release in early 2021. The new single follows recent EP release ‘In Dreams’, the latest addition to a much-admired solo career begun with Howie’s Ethan Johns-produced 2009 debut album, ‘Bright Light Ballads’, followed by 2017’s ‘Mountain’.
Alaskan Tapes is the ever-evolving ambient music project of Toronto-based composer Brady Kendall. Today, he shares his introspective new song, “We.” When asked about the track, Brady says “‘We’ was recorded during the first phase of the pandemic, when everyone was trying to get used to being alone. Writing this track was the only way I could find comfort in the solitude. It was recorded on my old Spinnet piano, and is intentionally kind of ugly, in a nice way.”
Post-hardcore band Foreveratlast unite the good, bad, and unknown on “Holy Ghost” single
In 2015, Indianapolis quartet foreveratlast delivered an album called Ghosts Again that elicited praise from both Rock Sound and Alternative Press for resurrecting the 2000’s post-hardcore scene. With a freshly inked Victory Records deal, becoming a band of epic proportions seemed to be on the horizon. After touring heavily in support of that release the band took an extended stay-at-home to record the follow-up to the album. Today, foreveratlast has emerged with a brand new single and music video titled “Holy Ghost.”
Jimmy Chamberlin Complex announce new album Honor, due out September 25th via Make Records. Legendary Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin teams up with bassist/producer Billy Mohler and guitarist Sean Wollstenhulme for Honor, while also featuring Frank Catalano and Kneebody members Adam Benjamin, Ben Wendell and Shane Endsley.

Prolific Austin indie pop duo United Shapes announced their long-awaited debut studio album, Compound Shapes, with a video for its lead single “Peppermint” on V13.
“If you ever needed proof of the age-old saying that slow and steady wins the race, you need not look further than to Austin duo United Shapes,” V13’s Aaron Willschick writes. “Peppermint” [is] a Devo-esque sounding song with a classic feel to it.”
MULATTO RELEASES RCA RECORDS DEBUT PROJECT “QUEEN OF DA SOUF”
This year continues to be a stellar one for the 21-year-old Atlanta-based rapper. Her track, “Bitch From Da Souf (Remix)” featuring Saweetie and Trina, was recently RIAA-certified Gold, making Mulatto the first solo female rapper from Atlanta to accomplish this feat. As Mulatto continues to climb the charts –#3 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart and Top 10 on the Nielsen BDS Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop National Airplay chart this week, the “Muwop” video featuring Gucci Mane has reached 10 million views. Revealed last week, Latto is one of only two women inducted into the XXL 2020 Freshman Class, earning her another major milestone in her burgeoning career. In addition to her own music, Mulatto has been inescapable; from her recent cameo in Cardi B’s “WAP” video featuring Megan Thee Stallion, to countless features including NLE Choppa’s “Make Em Say,” and Hitmaka’s “Thot Box (Remix),” proving that Big Latto is bigger and better than ever before.
