Meridian Brothers, the solo-project and live band of Columbian based Eblis Alvarez, have today announced their new album Cumbia Siglo XXI will be released August 21 via Bongo Joe Records. Along with the announcement they have shared lead single ‘Puya del Empresario’. A thrillingly unique blend of EDM ‘sidechain’ techniques and traditional Columbian cumbia, the track bursts into being with impossibly infectious and off-kilter rhythm, fuzzy synth lines and snatches of vocals.
On the release, Kevin Gates says, “Yes Lord…Amen!” The single follows Kevo Muney’s “4 A.M. Remix” featuring fellow Memphis rapper Jucee Froot and Kevin Gates’ most recent single, “Difficult.”

Up-and-coming indie pop singer TITA has just released her anticipated debut EP “Todo Es Mental” (on Cosmica Artists). A mix of electro-pop, hip-hop, lo-fi, and indie rock, the EP is TITA’s first as a solo artist. With the help of her friend and producer Bumont (Walter Monterroso Beaumont), TITA composed, recorded, and mixed “Todo Es Mental” over several sessions. Each song addresses different topics such as loneliness, melancholy, anxiety, social discontent and love, but in the end, “they’re all about our state of mind and how we interpret life situations.”

“I wrote the song, Lonely Alone, with Willie in mind.” Says Crow. “It’s was written as kind of a barside cowboy noir with romantic Spanish inflections, but the song has taken on new meaning during these times. I hope people find the same comfort in this song that I have always found in Willie. I never feel closer to home than when I am singing with him – I know a lot of people feel the same way, even if they’re just singing along with him on the radio. I felt that this was the perfect song and the perfect sentiment to celebrate THREADS with.”
Johnny Ashby is a British singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. Ashby found a love for music through his Dad’s mixtapes. As a teen he played guitar in various bands and after leaving college, stepped into the session world. Deciding to move to California with nothing but a suitcase full of clothes, a guitar he built himself and dreams of playing the legendary Troubadour, the songwriter dove in head first and has not looked back since.

“While the recording process took about a year, the idea itself started a long time ago. I probably wrote “Oh Father” in my early twenties, along with “Mariana” and “Landslide”,” shared Casey. “At first, these songs were just ways to talk about how I felt towards the death of my own father and the distance it put between me and his side of the family. I wrote “Songbird” a couple years later on a balcony in Ocean City, Maryland; that’s where I had the idea to start taking these thoughts and fusing them into a character that was similar to me, but dealing with different circumstances. I remember sitting on the beach with my friends, excitedly brainstorming ideas about the different themes of the album and the story itself. It’s really come a long way since then.”
