BETCHA RELEASE LATEST SINGLE “CLOSER TO THE SUN”

“The song actually came together pretty quickly,” says lead vocalist Charlie Greene, “We were writing with our good friend Nick Bailey – he came in with the line “Closer to the Sun” and I immediately connected with it. The melody for the chorus came first and had this massive rock energy that’s shaped the rest of the song. I think we tracked like 4-5 guitar hooks for the song and narrowed it down to one for the record. It was actually the last song written for our next project, I think we wrote it only a few weeks prior to hitting the studio.”

David Newton & Thee Mighty Angels Share New Single “In Love & War”

“‘I’m not normally a hippy/spiritual type, more of a punk rocker haha, but I had a dream a few years ago that I bought the new single by Pet Shop Boys, one of my long time favorite bands btw, and it was called “In Love And War”. Crazy thing is I actually woke up with the song and melody in my head so on an impulse I grabbed my phone and sang it into there. I played it back a few days later and realized that it wasn’t actually that bad so I went into my studio and recorded what became “In Love And War” (by me, not Pet Shop Boys). In fact, there is actually a reference at the end of the second verse: ‘Neil & Chris, now take your cue, what would you do if this happened to you.’ – David Newton” – Earbuddy

Artist: Holy Smoke – Track: Is This America

We can debate the merits of celestial inspirations to the moon and back… One thing is clear, Holy Smoke have recorded a powerful rock protest anthem in “Is This America?”. Holy Smoke’s answer to America’s past and present battle to accept itself as “a nation of immigrants” is a straight up rock n roll punch-in-the-face with three chords and the truth. Soaring guitars. Driving bass and stomping drums. Potent lyrics and vocals that question America’s “Land of the Free” status and deliver an “I can’t breathe” message loud and clear. All this is wrapped into a Grammy-worthy production that will have listeners sharing, playlisting, asking themselves “Is This America?”, and hopefully rising to define it.
