Josiah Johnson Shares New Single “False Alarms”, Listen Now

“There were a few big relationships there in the writing of ‘False Alarms,’ but most present on my mind was my friendship with Jon [Russell, of The Head And The Heart],” Johnson explains. “There are waves and waves of love, of creative force, of spark and hard work creating the whole journey; we’re light years from where we met now. I was (and still am) learning to accept how we sometimes have to feel the sting of loss in order to be willing to learn the rough lessons and do the hard work. And I’m thankful to be here now.”

HOSTIA – To Release New Album This Fall

HOSTIA – Polish grindcore band. The group was established in 2017 in Warsaw. It engages musicians who have been active on the metal scene since the late 1990s. The band presents an openly anti-clerical and anti- religious image, further reinforced by the pseudonyms of the members, which were borrowed directly from the dead Popes: St Sixtus, St Anacletus, St Evaristus and St Xyxtus. The first album titled simply Hostia was released in 2018 by Via Nocturna and incorporates 13 uncompromising tracks both musically and lyrically. The preservation of anonymity and the minimum dosage of information emphasizes the underground attitude of the group. You need nothing more than the music itself.

“Honeybrains” is off the former member of ARMS and Harlem Shakes’ upcoming album Memory Foam, out May 22nd on House of Feelings.

Cup Share ‘Nothing Could Be Wrong’ LP, Album Out Now Via Aagoo Records

Brooklyn-based rockers Cup share their hard and heavy-hitting album Nothing Could Be Wrong, released through Aagoo Records.

In late 2017/early 2018, Cup’s lineup underwent a few changes and aligned into a four-piece, with Wojcik on guitar and vocals, Freddie Wyss on bass, Chad Sardashti on synth and guitar, and Kelsey Chapstick on drums, and for the first time, it was immediately apparent to Wojcik that he had finally found the Cup band. This release, Nothing Could Be Wrong, marks a mutation in the ethos of Cup—a move from a single voice to four dynamic voices, each with an equal say in the writing process and direction of the band. The four entered into that same practice space and surfaced months later with many new pieces and an exciting shift in Cup’s sound. In a way, writing this album felt like starting from square one.
